Kalvin Phillips

I think he's got the yips
So long sat on the bench thinking about what he's supposed to be doing that when he crosses the line it's no longer happening instinctively. Pretty sure if we'd just wheeled him off the bench as a right back at times last season, his decline wouldn't have been so rapid. Whether he can regain form in the remaining games remains to be seen, but I doubt he'll start against Arsenal.

What do we get in return?

They don't have a pot to piss in and we would have to pick up a vast majority of his contract.
Let's face reality, we're getting fuck all for him. Nobody with any sense is going to want to buy him.

Maybe the best thing is if we just agree to rip up his contract? He can leave on a free and go to say Leeds, and we're not stuck paying some / all of his wages and constantly pissing about try to find him a loan deal every 6 months..

Wonder if hes losing his Euro chance with this move.. sad for the lad. Maybe Southgate will watch him more now and put him out of the squad if hes not playing the majority of the games for West Ham. Easier to be on the bench for City and go to a tournament. I doubt it though.

A joke surely. How in the name of fuck would we get €40 million for him.
Fabrizo quoted that as the buy option before then saying we had not agreed to one yet with West Ham. Still, would be absolutely bonkers if we got that. Going to get low balls all day in the summer for him.

With respect, he wasn’t crap, and isn’t crap.
Fair enough, he may not have been at the level you expect, and no doubt we’ll lose money on him, but I’ve seen far worse than him playing for City.
His confidence is shot and every mistake is being highlighted. It doesn’t mean he cannot recover and play well again for another team.

Hart springs to mind with what I've highlighted in your comment the shit Hart got for a few years was a disgrace, Paul Robinson was also ruined by the bastards in the media scrutinising absolutely everything, David James at the dippers before him too when it comes to English keepers, he was slaughtered the most it's a miracle he came back from it at all.

What annoyed me with all the attention towards Hart's heavily scrutinised errors, is Hugo Lloris was making shitloads of mistakes his weren't being reported on because he wasn't English it's similar to the grief Sterling got.

The media in this country love trying to ruin England's most talented players they're total pricks, their latest victim is Kalvin Phillips they can't wait to grind people down in to the dirt in my view it's mostly the media who get to players, they ruin them and there are other factors but the grief they get off the tabloids is like the final nail in the coffin.

When the media start talking about these players they can't avoid it as it literally becomes public discussion, if they don't have thick enough skin or the hate gets too much it can easily make the best talents crumble.

I hope for Phillips sake he can proves them wrong before the end of this season, if not he'll be stuck in a rock and a hard place and we might end up stuck with loaning him out.

Not sure Joe Hart is a good example.

His form went off the side of a cliff and although he has somewhat recovered he is nowhere near the player he once was.

And it was not just the media who questioned him, Mancini, Pellegrini and Pep all dropped him and questioned his attitude and form.

Phillips was shocking in our shirt, that's just fact, he had one superb season for Leeds and a great tournament for England, otherwise in my opinion , he is a very average player.

If he’s now going round the papers slagging City off while he is still contracted to the club that’s a very idiotic move, even by his standards.
Tried to support KP but that takes the biscuit that lets be honest Kalvin you'd never have come close in your career to winning a PL and CL if it wasn't for Pep. I'm just hoping Leeds come up and he can return there & we can recoup most of the fee we paid now.

Won't go too harsh on him until I've read the full quotes but I don't think anyone with a brain could buy the 'jibe' line.

If you play for Pep and you're good enough to stay for a few years, you're guaranteed to walk away with an incredibly prestigious trophy cabinet. Sticking to your diet and your exercise regime is nobody's responsibility but your own - and for the wages our players receive it's a pretty small sacrifice to make, considering you can bin it in your early 30's if you want.
