What's the consensus on running [almost] every day?

I've started to find my groove again so thinking of stepping up.
I can't make track interval sessions with the club (on a Weds eve) at the moment, but will resume those at some stage.
I may also try and stick in some early morning runs inthe morning to free time up in the evening (but short 6ks).

Run everyday, just vary your intensity, getting a hefty runstreak together is great for motivation.

Same for me. Run 3 times a week, swim twice a week and have 2 recovery days.

Yeah.
I normally go for a walk in the evening if I'm not running.
But tonight it's pissing it down. So I may as well do the same walk as run thus getting less wet (that's how it works right?).
I do have Yoga class at 8 mind....but recovery days may mean different things to different people.
I've been sat at work all day so NEED some kind of cardio lest I go stir crazy!

What do we think about the parkrun changes this week? All records scrapped, think it's a load of bollocks myself, which is quite appropriate as it's said bollocks are the reason for the changes(transsexuals taking women's records).
Shite all is sacred nowadays, dont get me wrong I'm not against change when it's for the better, but how does taking away having a time goal in a parkrun possibly improve it? Apparently it will make it more inviting for folk to try and not feel intimidated, horseshit!! So not publishing the times is going to make 25stone Billy jump off the couch and say "that's it I'm in" is it fuck.

I attempted to do Peel Parkrun but was thwarted this morning.
The event started late as the park was double booked. Not an issue normally but I was already on a tight schedule with the football being an early kick off.
Completed the first lap then carried on running back to Castlefield.

My ambition for few years has been run to park run (just over 3 miles) run park run and run home again so I managed it today. It was fantastic, awful, tremendous, horrible and exhilarating. At times thought might need rescued in a canoe and off course I fell in it. I'm not expecting a fast time on parkrun but I think I'm marking that run down as character building

Completed the Aintree half marathon today. Was hoping for sub 1HR 47but fell short by 45 seconds. I blame the congestion for the 1st mile ;).
Really good set up and enjoyable run. Plenty of Mancs there.

Not posted on the thread for ages but still been at it.

Mostly hill based training and loads of 6 a side and a bit of assault bike here and there.

Resting heart rate on waking this morning was 50.

Not bad for someone in their mid 40s eh?

Running has lost a gem before he reached his full potential (and broke the 2hr marathon).

Desperately sad news.

Awful news. Both he and his trainer killed in a car crash in Kenya. Only 24 but an incredible talent.

Tragic news, saw it just before bed last night, put on a running podcast to go to sleep and they started talking about him. Huge loss to the world.

Terrible news, he was well on the way to becoming the GOAT, was due to attempt a sub2 in rotterdam in April and few would have backed against him

Great weekend of running. Went out on the saturday and completed a nice relaxing 11k in the sunshine as a mate offered his place in the Portland Half Marathon on the Sunday.

Portland half is a bit brutal but a really enjoyable race with very varied terrain. The race starts by going straight up heartbreak hill to the isle, all the down sections being stone paths and the most runnable section being a muddy sludge at this time of year. Finally you have an out and back along the road next to chessil beach, which is a bit of a challenge mentally when tired. Added bonus sea views all the way round.

I managed to finish fifth out of 140 as I think a few of the quicks never fancied the conditions that much, sadly as it was my mates place my name wont be logged going forward.

There was a marathon on at the same time and GB runner Fiona Pascall was racing, sister of Beth Pascall ex-record holder of the Bob Graham round. I did pass her and comment on how well she was running.

Took a week off so far, felt some soreness in the shins, I think going straight to 70km a week following flu has brought on the start of shin splints unfortunately. Will try to ease back in next week.
