Agreed. Although Rúben, who I rate so highly, is not quite so imperious this season. But I still think Rúben with Johnny is a pairing made in heaven. And Aké is a better left back than Gvardiol, for the time being.
What you can't legislate for is our keeper getting bored…
You can count on one hand how many passes Eddie has got wrong that have led to goals in the years he has been here. It is risk and reward and there has been far more reward . He is by far the best keeper with his feet I have ever seen.

Hopefully we batter them

Not sure it'll be as easy as some think. I said before the game a few months ago that it'll be nowhere near as easy a game as some are thinking.

They'll want to turn up against us and have enough good players to trouble anyone when they actually decide to turn up.

That said, we're definitely playing much better than when we last faced them.

I doubt he will ever spend his credit he earned at the last knockings in Istanbul.
Coutinho reserve levels.

Mind you I doubt I am not alone in wanting to throttle him on Tuesday night!

I just don’t know what to make of this. Which Chelsea will turn up? We must beware of breakaways. 2-1.
I agree it is hard to know. I do think having Kevin for this one makes a big difference. He just stabilizes us in midfield.

Possibly the most influential player of the Pep era. There are now plenty of keepers that can do what he does, but they were like rocking horse shit when he signed for us in 2017.

High scoring game here which we'll edge 3-2. Ederson, Walker, Dias, Akanji, Ake, Rodri, Nunes, Doku, Foden, De Bruyne, Haaland
I hope not 3-2 as my nerves are shot at enough ATM with Dips n Arse scoring for fun and increasing their respective GDs.
I want a win, but like Everton last week, this will be their cup final and it won't be easy , wish we could repeat the February 2019 6-0! I honestly can't even predict this one....

This was on Facebook., no author but obviously a City fan. He/she is absolutely right.

October 2016, Pep Guardiola is three months in the job and City have just lost 4-0 to Barcelona making them four games without a win.
During post match conference he’s asked if he feels he will need to start changing the way he plays given his results with City so far…
“I WON 21 TITLES IN 7 YEARS PLAYING THIS WAY, I WOULD RATHER QUIT AND GO HOME THAN CHANGE”
Peps defence of his philosophy was made in no uncertain terms.
Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas insisted that Peps City were “decades away from getting anywhere near the level of his former Barcelona team”…
But on he went, getting City to play his way. On he went, winning title after title, breaking record after record, crushing the opinions of the naysayers one after another.
Centurions, Dom Quad Fourmidables, back to back titles in multiples competitions, three in a row league titles, Treble Winning Champions of the World.
Peps philosophy won City the lot. He is the single Greatest acquisition this club has ever made.
He’s the Greatest football coach in the history of the sport, no one else comes close despite however many millions of others try to argue otherwise.
They absolutely hate that we love him, they absolutely hate that he loves City, they absolutely hate that he’s unrivalled in his achievements.
There will never be another like him, and we are quite simply not worthy to have ever had a man of his calibre not only manage our team, but give every fibre of his being to our club.
He could have had a much easier life elsewhere, he could have done a few seasons here to say he’d done the Premier League then moved on, he could have replied “no comment” to all the shit that’s been thrown at us year in year out, but no, that’s not who he is. He’s passionately defended us at every opportunity, he’s doubled down on his trust and belief in our owners, he’s called out those who want us dead by name and he’s going nowhere in a hurry.
His legacy at City and in the sport of football itself will be spoken of for centuries.
What a time to be alive, long may it continue.

We need to be wary of Chelsea on the counter they have some dangerous pacey players in Sterling and Palmer. But defensively they can be got at and I can see Doku and Foden causing them problems.

Should be a decent game as Poch won't park the bus.

One thing with poch sides when playing a pep team is, like he was saying in his press conference you have to run you have to attack, just like they did at there place! The difference now is we are more in form and at home. Going to be a few goals in this game so 4-2

If he doesn't park the bus we will blow their doors off...that exchanging chances plan will not work with one Kevin DeBruyne on the pitch...
