Pope clueless the all is turning so slow he could have hit it straight passed the bowler!

This is how we usually play when not attacking try and stay in score nought then play a daft shot!

Root needs to get into some form here now also Bairstow when he comes in in the next 5 mins[emoji38]

Yeah, yeah… wha’ever!

Actually, I'm getting into that gallows mindset where I start to think about setting negative records as a perverse source of pride (think Pearce's home goals record, or us being champions then relegated in consecutive seasons). If we lost by 500, would that be some sort of record?

Bairstow has to be dropped, from the team I mean, garbage.

Root surely needs to get a score here for confidence while under no pressure?

Does the monsoon season ever come at an unusual time?

500 wouldn't be in the top (bottom?) 4 of test defeats....

Cheers. I notice, though, that three of those top four are almost ancient history as far as batting conditions and general cricketing style are concerned.

Anyway, looks as though Root and Stokes don't want the record.
Oops. Just seen that Joe's gone. Jesus, but he's had a shit series. Of Bairstow, I no longer expect anything (don't understand why he's in the team actually). But of a man who was generally to be considered one of the top No. 4s in the world not so very long ago, Root's series has been abject.

Should be the death knell for Bairstows career but he'll probably get 30 more tests. Roots form is worrying now, he's not done anything since the first Ashes test.

City fan mentality…….I know the feeling……

Obviously not the biggest thing to be concerned about today but when did the TV umpire start saying he'd checked both feet on a review? I'm sure it used to be he had checked the front foot.
