Chelsea (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

They were frankly well worth their point. But some of the refereeing was pretty disgraceful, has to be said. (Not a penalty on Walker by Sterling, in my view, absolutely even stevens. But a clear second yellow for Caicedo on Kev, should be red and off. Why? Because he'd already been given the leeway earlier in the match? It would not have been harsh).

Oh I really don't think the way Raz was treated by some fans on Saturday can be properly compared to the treatment at Anfield on the rare occasions he played there. The entire ground was like a pack of baying wolves against him, every time. It was exactly as though a bloke had been jilted by his girl at the altar, and it went on for years.
Yeah that was far worse. Although, him leaving them at about 20 i could kind of see why they’d see their arse(especially with their cultish ways). Obviously he didn’t get anything like that kind of treatment from us on Saturday but still baffling that some booed him. I was far from his biggest fan but we got 7 very good years from him with no trouble and then got our money back.

Nah, I'm not touchy, and I won't put you on ignore neither, just to keep the humour going if nothing else.

Sensitive, only thing sensitive about me mate are my fucking teeth
Maybe I caught you at a bad time, but I thought the joke was obvious, as it has been used many times (by others) against many posters.

Says a lot in my book , Mutual Respect for a ex Team Mate, as for the clappers , the same , respect for Players who have Donned a City Shirt,

And apart from 3 of our squad none will be City fans, you see this all the time in the tunnel so it’s a non starter for me, it’s a profession and a job for them were they think they’re all mates anyway, so not relevant at all really, respect for Palmer who was a bit part player at best but like I say I don’t boo, certainly didn’t clap, so fuck the pair of them

I didn’t know how the joke came into it, one minute you were telling me why people clapped I was explaining why I didn’t and didn’t agree with others doing it, then you drop rag into it, so boom as they say, fucking bullshit tactic.

There was no bad timing, just the insult that tipped it over the edge

Always think what would happen if there was an extra (to the now added on time) 10 minutes played ?
Think City would have won as Chelsea were plum-tuckered.
But, this only shows that Pep could/should have taken Alvarez (and moved Phil from the wing) earlier ?
Thought Bobby should have replaced Doku after his excellent cameo performance at Newcastle...
You could actually argue that better finishing and Chelsea could have won too so I think a draw was fair.

He is a young guy playing his first season in the PL, obviously there will be ups and downs as we have witnessed.

Saturday and since his injury he has not been the same player as the one that came in and was superb, nothing wrong with stating that.

Learning from his game against Chelsea will be the measure of his future in our shirt.
I've read that some blue moaners may have contacted him on social media.

And two trophies already in the bag.
Indeed. Pep has set such an absurdly high standard for us that people would be claiming we'd had a poor season for doing things other clubs would be having parades for.

Absolutely it won't last forever, but it will last as long as he's here for and I'm sick of knobheads turning up every season and telling us we are old news when they've yet to do fuck all.

The problem is that when he is being covered by two players, he does not pass the ball quickly enough to recycle it to expose that space he helped create. Too little end product, including the quality pass inside to help find the space.
Fair point hopefully he will improve, but I am an FOC and I remember the likes of Tueart, Barnes and Hutchinson skilled wingers who would dribble past as many players as were in front of them. Great to watch but we won little or nowt.

I’m the same FOC and enjoyed all of them back in the day. Unfortunately, this is a different day and a different way of playing.

If he just had raw pace to burn and always got around players and crossed it, that’d be one thing, but he doesn’t. It’s neither one nor the other most of the time.

A point versus Chelsea especially how open we were at the back during the first half isn't great. But that point may mean we win the title once the season concludes. I'll take it.

This forum will become warzone after Pep someday left us in the future and inevitable throphy droughts for decades is followed after he left us.

Hopefully it will never happen but there's still a chance for that kind of thing happening and our club is not immune for that. It's a cyclic nature in football.

Doku looked very indecisive in his decision making and that is a part of his game that he is still in the process of learning. A bigger problem for us is the fact that John Stones isn't fit enough to play two games a week at the moment. He is vital to way we want to play and gives us extra control in games. Ankanji tries to fill the void to the best of his ability but just isn't as good as John. Stones being fully fit for the run in is essential.
