Chelsea (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Missed the energy of Bernardo until he came on and also the calming influence of John Stones.

On another day at least 2 chances would have gone in. We miss the target sometimes when it’s easier to score.

Just looked at the handball on the tv. He moves the ball in order to clear it, can’t see why that was not given.

I’ll take a point based on that performance. Akanji can’t do what Stones does horrible to watch. Ake and Rodri brilliant. Biggest issue for me this season remains our recruitment. We are not at the same level, don’t have the game changers we had last year. No Mahrez no Gundo. Doku not questioning his effort but nothing comes from him. Nunes and Kovacic are on bench for good reason.
To be fair, the lad from West Ham was our first choice. Outside circumstances stopped that.

You can always tell you are in for a difficult afternoon when we start off at a snails pace. Chelsea aren't that good a side but they started with fire in their bellies and a great deal of determination. Pressed and fought for the ball. We continued on at a slow pace and didn't really move the ball forward at all. The first half wasn't pretty.

I was surprised Alvarez came out for the second and thought both him and Akanji should have been changed for Stones and Bernardo. It is immensely frustrating to watch Foden shunted out to the wing to accommodate Alvarez, it must be even worse for Phil. I would have liked Bobb on for Doku too.

We can't afford Haaland to miss the chances he did today, he needs to be putting at least one of those headers away.

Couple hours on and I'm even more pissed off. I was fuming at the draw at their place, they haven't got any fucking better since and we treated them like prime Barca today. They are fucking mid table for a reason.

Sick to death of Pep talking up teams and making them believe it.

We looked like we had ran a marathon before the game, everyone looked so slow and turgid and thank fuck they only had Jackson and Sterling upfront.

Kyle for the first goal was a shocker. He could have let Sterling keep going out wide and smother the threat. Someone with his experience that was unbelievable

The thing with that goal is we've seen him score that way for us countless times and Walker has played and trained with him enough to know it. Just don't let him cut inside.

To be fair we were pretty poor today. Very few shots on target. Alvarez was a poor pick but the culprit was Haaland. He was shocking. No excuse for that performance. He has to look at himself
I absolutely love him, but he's not actually done it for a while - Everton aside. This is probably just a reversion to the mean though to be honest, he'll fire away again soon
