Who should/could we have signed to replace Gundog,Mahrez,Laporte and Cancello ?

We wouldn’t pay the UK record price for Rice and The deal for Philips/Paqueta was scuppered due to betting enquires.

Palmer was released late in the window because he wouldn’t accept not having guaranteed match time.

KDB was injured and ruled out for 5 months after 20 minutes of the first match.

I’d be interested to to read your thoughts.

If Paqueta didn't have that betting thing he was the one! Nunes was our 2nd choice I suppose

Blows my mind that I've never seen City lose a closely fought race given a) how many we have been in and b) how perilous it has looked (QPR and Villa obviously, but going a goal down against Brighton etc) before. It feels like the cosmic order owes us one, but maybe we are still indebted for what we went through in the 90s.
Haha. This weighs on me too. We are “due” (even though there isn’t such a thing) some agony in the league. I like your point about the 90s but I’ll also throw in the champions league. Until last year we had dreadful luck in the latter stages and could, maybe even should, have won it a couple of times.

It will happen at some point. Just don’t want it to be this season!

This is the season right here now:

Next 6 PL games:

Bournemouth A
Rags H
Liverpool A
Brighton A
Arsenal H
Villa H

If we can get 5 wins and a tie at Anfield.. we'll be in a good position.

C'mon City!
5 wins and a draw would be out of this world but I’d rather the draw was not against Arsenal or Liverpool (I’m being greedy)

People talking about how teams like Brentford play so poorly against Liverpool and not us. I don't think that's the case at all.

We ALLOW teams to come to us and just sit back and play narrow. We play right into their game plan, we try to build slowly from the back, right through midfield (sometimes back again!), and then through to the forwards for the most perfect tap in option we can find.

We allow them to get back in position after every counter attack they do, or after every time our keeper has the ball. This just enables them to sit deep, time waste and try to hit us on the counter.

liverpool on the other hand will try and counter them and play on the front foot.

Now I'm not for one minute saying that the scousers play better than us, or I'd want us to be like them. What I am saying though is that teams who do sit back and look to counter often can't handle the 'counter counter' attack i.e. a quick and direct ball out from our keeper or through midfield, right to the feet of two of the world's best attacking players in Haaland and Foden, before the opposition has had time to regroup.

Most of the time we find a way through, hence why we've won so much consistently! So I don't expect us to do this every time, but on occasion it would make us so much more dangerous, it would give us another dimension as a team. It's criminal that we have Haaland who is lethal in one on one scenarios and yet rarely even look to get him in that position. Almost every one on one he is involved in he scores, look at the goal yesterday. On pure maths alone it's a no brainer.

It amazes me how the best manager in the world can't seem to see the logic in getting Haaland in those positions more often.
What a lot of people don't take into account is that most teams will raise their game against the current prem, euro and world champions

Watching the scouse cunts game. I would be happy with getting half of the decisions these lot get at home. It's like watching a different sport, as soon as they get the slightest of knocks it's a foul, but the ref is more than happy to let them play the advantage wherever it suits them better. Whereas Luton are getting pulled over left right and centre with zero interest from the officials

we need to raise our game as well as this is not the best we can do in last few weeks performance wise. result wise its quite good as it has been mostly wins but performance wise many of our players not at their best.the best Grealish nowhere to be seen, Haaland underscoring his xG, Alvarez form is strange, some of the shots he fires out of the Etihad is unreal, and the midfield role is not suiting him, Bernardo also has been much finer form previous seasons, while Doku is in learning mode, KDb trying to find balance after his long injury. and we did not replace Gundo which is fucking stupid. defenders like Dias, Walker also had much better individual seasons.

my only hope is that Arse and dippers both having this form now where they are just ripping teams apart by scoring so much, this form hopefully peaks too soon for them, cannot see this staying like this until end of May. dippers bigger worry as they have many more injuries now than Arse, and dippers won also most of their games recently with Salah hardly playing due to Afcon and injuries. hope these additional Carabao run and soon to be starting Thursday EL will catch up to them and makes its mark on their fitness, stamina. unless they do still take those drugs not on the doping list.

and we really need to start looking at goal difference.

only two home games where I can imagine a higher score is Luton and WHU maybe and WHU is actually last round which is bit too late if GD plays a role.

We're fighting for results and that's something I'm proud of, but Liverpool and pigmol are scoring for fun plus they don't have any meaningful European campaign to tax them mentally as well as physically. It's theirs to lose as far as I see it, and it'd be their first non asterisked premier league so they'll be really up for it.

They still had a jolt and a better side would have made them more uncomforable for longer. Making up the 6 goals is still doable. Liverpool being in the Europa will give them something else to think about.

We don't need to focus on anything other than winning every single game between now and the end of the season.

It's as simple as that.

If they are leading the title race by the time the europa league game comes along I expect them to play a weakened side in that comp.
