That’s #DIV/0! times more than Nunes and Kovacic will scoreGundo barely scored 5 a season till his 5th year here tbf.
I’d say we clearly need to improve the squad depth as we don’t have the quality options we have in the pastIf nobody left, who does Paqueta automatically dislodge from the starting eleven? Not against his coming, just that I’d like to see where and how we finish the season before committing to players.
As I say, I’d wait until I see how things end up before deciding. So far, it’s been our inability to beat the better teams (Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, and Chelsea) that has been our ‘undoing’, and while the rump of a young squad will have a year‘s more experience next season, others will be a year longer in the tooth. I want to see the squad depth increase but I also want to see quality of the starting eleven improve, too. What I don’t want to see is the former improving but the latter remaining static. Hope that makes sense.I’d say we clearly need to improve the squad depth as we don’t have the quality options we have in the past
Bernardo is always likely to leave and he is a good replacement for him
We definitely need a freshen up
Agreed but who can we add to staring lineupAs I say, I’d wait until I see how things end up before deciding. It's not easy, but whomever we sign this summer, they have to be the sort of player that not only thinks that they should be here but that they should be in the starting eleven. If Paqueta fits the bill, fair enough. As I said, let's see where the rest of the silver ends up before we spend the gold.Agreed but who can we add to staring lineup
With haaland, foden, rodri, Bernardo and kdb fit its tough
It’s more options when they are missing or to rest them
Also need to replace Kev at some point
Arguably, Haaland has been the only signing in the past two summers to have improved the starting XI. Maybe Akanji as well if he plays like he’s playing at the moment. Gvardiol I think will be a very good player but he has some adapting to do. Our other signings I think could still go either way to be honest. It's not easy, but whomever we sign this summer, they have to be the sort of player that not only thinks that they should be here but that they should be in the starting eleven. Sell Nunes back to Wolves, plus dough on top for Neto. Kovacic becomes a CM rotation option.I was a fan of his joining, but I don't see how it could work with Kovacic/Nunes already struggling for minutes.
Imagine our season with Paqueta & Wirtz in midfield instead of Kovacic & Nunes? If nobody left, who does Paqueta automatically dislodge from the starting eleven? Not against his coming, just that I’d like to see where and how we finish the season before committing to players.
I know but people are talking like he hit 15-20 every season and comparing new guys to that. He became prolific but he started as a 3-5 season goal midfielder at here and dortmund. just seems a unfair comparisonThat’s #DIV/0! times more than Nunes and Kovacic will score
Haaland certainly elevated us last season, and I’ve been sufficiently impressed by Gvardiol, especially since he has been asked to operate as a left back.Arguably, Haaland has been the only signing in the past two summers to have improved the starting XI. Like yourself I think that really needs to change this summer and we need to sign someone who will immediately improve the team. Not an easy task given the levels involved but we do need an injection of quality in midfield and on the right wing in my view.
We’ll never know and I suspect Wirz will land in Bavaria.Imagine our season with Paqueta & Wirtz in midfield instead of Kovacic & Nunes?
Kovacic is a useful squad player, but Nunes made zero sense before we bought him & he makes little sense now. Unfortunately I can't see that situation changing for Matheus next season either. He's shown nothing of the level we require.
Like Philips, Pep not playing a player even when we're desperately short on squad numbers will tell unwanted players all they need to know. It just took Philips an extra 6 months for the penny to.finally drop.
Doubt Wolves would be interested in Nunes. He’s been poor/ average at best for us. Mainly though, because he left on bad terms, going on strike etc. As you say, panic buy..Sell Nunes back to Wolves, plus dough on top for Neto. Kovacic becomes a CM rotation option.
Paqueta would've made a massive difference to us this season. Personally I'd have negotiated down his price last summer & took the chance on him, rather than panic buy Nunes.
Were more likely to re-sign Sterling than Wolves are of re-signing Nunes.Sell Nunes back to Wolves, plus dough on top for Neto. Kovacic becomes a CM rotation option.

I'm not arsed if it takes players a season or two to bed in. What bothers me about Nunes is he showed nothing previously at Sporting or Wolves to suggest he was at the level we require, & I've seen nothing since his arrival to change my view. We’ll never know and I suspect Wirz will land in Bavaria.
Tend to agree with Nunes, which goes back to my point about only signing players who believe/and we believe they should immediately be in the starting eleven and not just in the squad. The small operating squad makes sense when they’re largely injury free, yet last season appears an anomaly in that regard.
Going to be a fascinating few months and then summer.
Unfortunately yes. There were few tears shed at Molineux when we spunked £50m on a player most Wolves fans were meh about... ¯\_(⊙_ʖ⊙)_/¯Were more likely to re-sign Sterling than Wolves are of re-signing Nunes.
There’s something about him though. In the games where we need dribblers to break lines, he can turn and do that at pace.Unfortunately yes. There were few tears shed at Molineux when we spunked £50m on a player most Wolves fans were meh about... ¯\_(⊙_ʖ⊙)_/¯
I think when you have a side with experience and high quality, it’s a luxury you can afford. When you have a younger team and key players become injured, then it’s less affordable.I'm not arsed if it takes players a season or two to bed in. Others who've taken time to settle have shown previously that they possibly had what it takes to make it at City, & have gone on to confirm our faith in their abilities.
I don't see it with Nunes to be honest. We operate at the highest level of world football & Nunes is nowhere near that level now, & has never been imho. There’s something about him though. In the games where we need dribblers to break lines, he can turn and do that at pace.
Hes got a lot to do though to become a regular.
