If we lose Bernardo, Kovacic & Phillips, I would think Nunes StaysWe'll sign him and look to offload Nunes.

I think it'll all depend on what happens with the Euro's & whether Leeds get promoted.Wee Davie will probably go at the end of the season and in doing so any chance of Phillips staying there goes with him.
The link with Leeds must come from the player and his agents, don't you think?I think it'll all depend on what happens with the Euro's & whether Leeds get promoted.
I think the return of Paqueta also benefits us. The Hammers thought Kalvin might be the pick-me-up they needed, but it's been a disastrous first 2 months for him.
However, Paqueta now gives Gollum the option of playing Philips in a single/double pivot, with Paqueta as a No 10, which sounds far more balanced.
With Antonio coming back too & Bowen moving back to the wings & wanting to be in the England shout in the summer, I think there's several WHU players with something to prove, not to mention the constant rumours about Gollum's future, which all takes the pressure off Kalvin which is a good thing.
Kalvin's a good kid & a decent player. Unfortunately he's just the wrong fit for the way City play, similar to Nunes imo. If WHU pull it together in the final months of the season, & Philips plays a significant part in that, I honestly believe the WHU hierarchy will look differently on him, & possibly reason he just needed time to settle & to be out of the glaring spotlight.
Fingers crossed it works out for the lad, WHU prove the perfect fit, & City can move him on for around £35 - £40m. )(
Especially as Wirtz wouldn’t be much more.High fee for a guy that will be 27 at start of next season.
Where is kovatic going ? Not any reason for him to leave is there ?If we lose Bernardo, Kovacic & Phillips, I would think Nunes Stays
Release clause and him begging to move here is a hell of kicker though, no fight no fuss, great fit and done.Especially as Wirtz wouldn’t be much more.
I reckon if we don't go for Wirtz, it's because he doesn't want to move abroad/at all at this stage of his career. Surely, he would be ahead of Paqueta in the pecking order (looking at the long-term). If Wirtz stays at Bayer, maybe we can go for him in a year or two when KDB really starts to slow down.Especially as Wirtz wouldn’t be much more.
I’d be happy if we got one of Musiala and Wirtz. Both would be incredible.I reckon if we don't go for Wirtz, it's because he doesn't want to move abroad/at all at this stage of his career. There's a decent player in there, but unfortunately for all concerned, Kalvin's not a player who's at City's level. The link with Leeds must come from the player and his agents, don't you think?
They are already planning how to get out of city and to make even more money, we will have to pay him off or let him leave for a token fee, both wins for the players/agents wallet.
Not sure where this "Kalvin's a nice bloke" has come from, always thought Pep was slightly sarkie with his comments, particularly when Phillips went to West Ham.
Phillips had a very good 18 months, top euro's followed by a good season under Bielsa, apart from that he was a Championship player.
I was surprised , there were several rumours of a move to Saudi in the summer and there is nothing since to dismiss those.Where is kovatic going ? Not any reason for him to leave is there ?
Wirtz would be well north of 100M.Especially as Wirtz wouldn’t be much more.
Buyout is about £110m. It’s not that much more than £85m, especially if we get 10 years of service out of him.Wirtz would be well north of 100M.
Saudi want to sign all of our players tbf , disregard any links to any of them who currently play for us . If anyone wants to go for the money like ffs then they are not wanted here imoI was surprised , there were several rumours of a move to Saudi in the summer and there is nothing since to dismiss those.
Maybe it was just a short term deal to replace Gundo and maybe we have our real replacement limned up for the summer?
Kovacic is a class act but is also made of glass, he's had a bad injury record his whole career sadly.
Kovacic is at the age he may well be tempted and if we may make a profit after 12 months service it may suit us.Saudi want to sign all of our players tbf , disregard any links to any of them who currently play for us . If anyone wants to go for the money like ffs then they are not wanted here imo
