I think that the straw that broke the camel’s back with both Palmer and McAtee was not Doku but the subsequent signing of Nunes. We all thought that he would play more in central midfield with Kovacic and Rodri, and that Foden and Bernardo would therefore have to be accommodated out on the wings, where Grealish and Doku would also be competing for game time. Add Phillips and Gomez on the bench ahead of them- at that point, de Bruyne to return, and I can understand them looking elsewhere.

In relation to Paqueta this summer, even If he comes, we may need to rethink the logjam on the bench and determine whether it is worthwhile keeping certain players.

I’d rather have one diamond than 3 or 4 stocking fillers

I’d rather have kept mcatee than sign nunes .

No way he agrees to that west ham deal as no doubt we would beat their wage offer anyway and it seems he only has eyes for Pep? These chances don’t come around often
What is the love in with this guy. I’m not seeing it tbh there is better out there for a little more and as the best team in the world that’s what we should be aiming for. Same with sick note Netto. We are slowly but surely watering down the quality of the squad and it won’t end well

Out of interest, who and for how much more?

Err, probably because he’s an excellent player who we want

Musiala, Pedri, Gavi, Wirtz, Zielinski,
Musiala is most likely unobtainable, and if he is available, we will go for him (legit interest confirmed by Tolmie). Pedri and Gavi are in the pipe dream category. They are never leaving Barca, same like Phil for us. Wirtz doesn't seem keen to move abroad, and is eyeing up Bayern. There is also a chance he doesn't move at all. We are interested in him anyway (confirmed by Tolmie). Zielinski is 29 and just joined Inter Milan.

I would prioritise Neves ahead of Paqueta, though.

Fair enough I agree with Neves 100%

Wirtz for me over Paquetta however
Long term without question but how long would it take him to settle into this team and league?

We need someone who can come in and be quality from day 1, for me Paquetta could do that.

The same was said about Phillips
