If he played for any other PL team and had the same number of appearances this season most people still would haven't even heard of him and he wouldn't be anywhere near a full England call up.
To add context, Phil Foden had about 80 City appearances under his belt before his England debut, and won a couple of titles to go with.

So scruffy Jim has hired a ceo who used to be a city executive and super Dave Brailsford to take the rags to the next level and to do this want to hire Waistcoat to do it. You couldn’t wish for anything better if you’re a city fan. I assume the next level is the championship

And they ain’t going to improve their squad by going after players the calibre of Mbappe. They are going to produce them home grown in their academy, their academy that doesn’t seem to have produced any players of note since around the mid 1990s. They beat Liverpool in the cup though so that will keep the lemmings happy for a bit until the realisation they are not just being hoodwinked by the Glazers, Scruffy Jim is at it as well.

I'd fear united with Southgate at the helm. He's easily as good as Pep. I just hope united aren't smart enough to rush out and pay him a world record wage and lock him down to a 10 year contract. I also hope they don't keep Howyasay McClaren as a number 2. Or give it Giggsy tilend of season in meentime.

Southgate knows how to get the very best that they can offer from Rashford, Maguire and the likes of McTomminay. Southgate doesn't fanny about playing football with a ball. He knows the value of the mental side and words like philosophy. He knows how to build a team and hasn't spent very much at all.

I'd also fear Gary Neville. He's been there and done that. This crowd are getting it together. I fret.
Early marker for the Save Our Waistcoat campaign #SOW

And, an academy that has another, only around four miles away, that, over the last decade has built a reputation for producing some of the best young footballers in Europe.

Quite some stat from the Beeb... "Four of the past five 90th-minute winning goals in the Premier League by players aged 18 or younger have been for United: Federico Macheda in 2009, Marcus Rashford in 2016, Alejandro Garnacho in 2022 and now Mainoo."

Mainoo has started really well.

To come in at 18, play in arguably the most demanding role in the team and make the role his, is impressive.

It would've been very easy for Ten Haag to play the Brazilian fella and put Mainoo in sporadically.

He's very relaxed on the ball and plays that role well for a kid. I really like him.

But you wouldn't know that if you relied on the good old British media for your information. They just will not have a negative word said against either the rags or the dippers.
It's been open season on us since the takeover all those years ago, and yet despite all the evidence we are still the evil, corrupt, villains of the piece: funded by dirty oil money wrapped up in brown paper packages being handed surreptitiously to pgmol and their ilk.

I was watching the highlights package of Mainoo on sky last night and all it seemed to be was doing a little trick beating a couple of players and then it cut away before he presumably gave it away or it went out of play oh and one clearance off the line. Hardly setting the game alight but I do think he is a prospect at the right club bit like Macheda and Janujaz turned out to be :-)
