FA Cup Semi-Final | City v Chelsea | Sat 20 Apr 5:15pm SOLD OUT

Who do you want in the Semi Final?

  • Total voters
    307
  • Poll closed .
Due to costs I will probably give Villa a miss
Travelling from Edinburgh takes it toll financially.
But then again that's why I took early retirement.....

I'm thinking of staying overnight on the Saturday in Watford for this. Has anybody done that previously and would they recommend it?

My big concern is, given the cup semi finals and also London marathon on the same weekend we could be hit by train strikes again

Giving this one a swerve as I don’t do FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley out of principal so ‘I don’t’ line the pockets of the sweet FA.

We only found low level hotels, guesthouses etc available in watford.

Should be fine though, won't be any issues on trains

Stayed in the Watford travelodge for the Watford cup final.
Was decent. Easy to get into London on the train. Right in the centre so few pubs to go to

Quite a lot of £35 hotels (Premier Inn) in places not that far from London if driving. Hemel/St Albans/Kings Langley/Luton and a couple of others.

Definitely be going to this one as if we win doubt I’d be able to get to the final if it’s against the rags. 5.30 is a good kick off time also.

Exactly what?

Because I refuse to attend an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley to line the coffers of the FA?

And yes, if City do get to the FA Cup final I will be going, because it’s the final.

I went to Porto and Istanbul because they were finals. I’d go anywhere to watch City in a final if I can get the time off work and if I can afford it.

I get 2 Saturday requests off a year. That’s all I’m allowed. I work on Saturday’s. I’ve booked the FA Cup final and the CL final Saturday’s off just in case City get to either or both.

Thanks. The plan might be to drive in somewhere then train from hotel to Wembley. Have a few beers and drive back after lunch on the Sunday

You'll be OK,

London Overground service from Watford as well as National rail services.

No Strikes planned for either at present and if I were an "Ivan Toney" the chances of both striking on the same day are zero.

Your work pattern isn't the reason you said you won't do a FA cup semi at Wembley though.

You said out of principle you won't do it which is pretty lame tbh.

Grounds nowadays aren't built for a 50 / 50 split once every few years for a cup semi.

34k Chelsea fans will be happy with a short trip to Wembley. As shit as it may appear to us, it is better having half of the crowd travel distance instead of all of them.

Where would you have it, Villa Park with it's 40 odd k capacity?

As it stands there is literally nowhere else.
