Seat Counters - 2023/24

Just had to get out of bed to share my thoughts, would people prefer it if the club had the grand total of tickets left, or is adding each block more exciting, personally prefer the latter, right back to bed

Pissed up middle of the night rough count about 21800, not sure all of the level 2 have gone on sale though?

Is there a place for pissed up counting on what many of us consider a serious art, i think you need to sober up and take the job more seriously
Ah, but I'm hoping I've built up enough credit in the bank over the years to throw a drunken count in, appreciate its a cut throat business the counting of seats, but I've always been of the opinion that any counts a good count and the younger lads cutting their teeth in the counting world will see that us more experienced counters are getting older and drunker and take up the mantle... ;-)

all valid points and taken on board, personally i think there should be a seperate thread called Drunken seat counters, also for us connissours i think a live updates thread from purchasers would really add to the drama, although that would have to be on a trust/verifications system as you wouldn't want false declarations.

As a serious counter I'm not interested in Wembley counts until the last 5k when the FA have thrown in all the returns, given out the extra 2k additional Allocation, included the none interested club wembley and released all available orinally allocated seats.

i think you can call yourself an accurate counter, i am not sure wembley is the right job for you

For these type of games I'm all for selling to any blue that wants to go be that legacy fan or the mum with a young kid from Kidderminster who is city daft, as long as we give those 'legacy' fans first option which the criteria does. City get a hell of a lot wrong regarding ticket, but the Real tie and the semi they've got spot on for me
Agreed, all the “loyal” fans had plenty of time to get tickets (with it selling out at 3+ champs league games). Can’t really blame city for trying to make extra profit….theyre a business at the end of the day.

I’d assume that some level 2s would be held back for corporates. When @M18CTID did his count as soon as they went on sale I think he said there were 1100 level 2s on sale which isn’t all I don’t think.

I don’t know about that to be honest. When you’re counting down to a sell out and suddenly a few thousand extras appear it’s a bit soul destroying to think of all those 13 year Liverpool “fans” in Kuala Lumpa tweeting about what shit support City have.

i think we have crossed wires, i am not talking about extra blocks being added, should City have a countdown from 34000, or do we get the joy of adding up, i know where you are coming from though, just when you think the game has sold out all of a sudden it's like Bernard Halford has found another 1600 from under his desk.

Back to the serious business of counting and sales, i would say it's been a pretty poor start, if City have 20000 on the cup scheme, 8000 taken by supporters clubs/club, it looks like we have only sold an additional 3 or 4 thousand, i fear if the weekend is a slow burner we are going to have another community shield on our hands.

Now I understand: it would take someone 10 minutes to write a seat counters app with a live running total for all games. Liverpool “fans” around the world would snap it up.

I noticed slow burner sales right from the off on this one but didn’t want to say. Maybe lots are holding back so they can buy with friends when they qualify?

It’s already turning into an interesting one. It’s going to be a bigger version of the recent Newcastle rollercoaster when our thread filled with flappers and we were the calm heads.

Did Madonna start this 'Empty Seats' malarky? See:

If anyone wants 2 tickets for Palace away PM me.

Flying out to Madrid 5:55am Sunday, so mrs dodge has expressed her "concern" about doing London the day before, the fucking lightweight. If I had any bollocks I'd tell her to do one...but I haven't...she surgically removed them 10 years ago.

Anyway, I digress, if anyone wants 'em...all yours.

IIRC it was less than 900 but that is the one level that seems to go up and down more than the others. It’s like City are constantly adding and removing seats in Level 2 which makes it an almost impossible task for even the most seasoned seat counters.

A bit of a schoolboy error not to book your flight to Madrid out of London ;)

My initial count was 25000+ but there were well over a thousand in the queue before me. Now down to 21500 ish with another points drop for cup schemers tomorrow morning. Factor in that some of the supporters club allocation will have a crossover to fans on the cup scheme and I think it’s fair to say that take-up amongst those on the cup scheme is perhaps a bit higher than we think.

We could be on the same flight, as we're going from Stansted same flight time.
We're doing Palace and hopefully have a few celebratory beers after a win there.
Head to Stansted late and grab a few hours kip at the airport before the early flight.
Think they're a few with similar plans going from southern airports.
Only "Concern :)" at the moment is how
next week's train strikes effect things.
Avanti should be OK on Saturday but time schedule could be effected.
Doesn't help with the early kick-off.
