Needs someone around him to challenge for the 2nd ball too, otherwise not much point in winning the headers. It's more important that he holds the ball up and lays it off to one of ours IMO.

I'd have loved to see Foden more central to use his pace/half-turn to leave that turtle Jorginho in the dust.

If Grealish had been fit and match sharp, I'd have used him on the left and played Foden centrally with KDB to come off the bench as they tire. Would give us a bit more energy and pace centrally and more control from the wings too. Grealish probably isn't match fit though, so can understand why he has gone with KDB centrally (probably would have done anyway!).

It was never an option today to have him fixed in the centre. He’ll drift there though if Gvardiol is effectively our winger.

Liverpool aren’t going to drop many points. Their fixtures are easy and a draw would probably require them dropping points in 2 games with us winning every single match. That doesn’t seem likely. A draw is really bad for us. If we want the title we have to win. Nothing else is good enough.
