PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It was my grandads 90th in December and I bought him the paper from the day he was born as a present.

The one thing I learned is that there’s nothing new about headlines exaggerating or not really linking to articles and/or click bait.

Also, completely insanely, the front page was for classifieds and not news until the last days of WW2.
I'm not sure those Pink Final boards ever really reflected what the story was about now I think about it.

I don't believe there's a media conspiracy against us beyond a commercial one that negative stories clearly get a lot of clicks from fans of other clubs and it's probably easier than making transfer rumours up that those fans would be interested in. If the stories stopped generating clicks, the stories would dry up, especially as there's not been a new fact in over a year.

The PL is an entertainment business as much as a sporting event, and nothing sells like goodies Vs baddie stories. We've been cast as the baddie so I've embraced it and haven't once stood at a trophy parade wishing other fans liked us

It’s also important to acknowledge that Soriano would have a month long erection at the thought of New York City playing Los Angeles United, Liverpool Texans and Chicago Blues.
I've just been a little bit sick, but you're right. There's a World Cup there in two years time and if that can finally kick start football in America to European levels, there's obscene money to be made.

What is it you think you’ve found? No one has said F365 never cover the charges (that would be pretty weird), and reporting high profile comments from Liverpools mayor is not evidence of some anti-City editorial policy.
I'm sorry? you think a headline like

Man City stars reassigned after FFP ‘expulsion’: Foden to Chelsea as CB gets ‘dream’ Liverpool move

doesn't suggest an anti-city policy?

It's a shit piece that needs to be ignored for what it is, whatever wanker even thought that up needs sending to the post room.

Im based in Winchester and have been to 2 different pubs the last two evenings. Both nights I’m sat on a table next to groups slagging City off. Charges, overated, bought it all. I’m just sat here smiling listening to this rubbish.

They act like they don’t care but it’s all they can talk about.

As I said on here maybe 6 months ago, there were always going to be changes as Utd have a new owner who wants to spend, the Saudis at Newcastle want to spend,
Boehly wants to spend, Liverpool will inevitably get new owners shortly who will want to spend.

It’s been my position all along that the notion of ‘red shirts who hate city’ is out of date. Boehly and Radcliffe are actively seeking a close alignment with City now who have become the pinnacle to aim at.

It’s also important to acknowledge that Soriano would have a month long erection at the thought of New York City playing Los Angeles United, Liverpool Texans and Chicago Blues.

None of that is anything to do with my point .....

I don’t think I could help myself in that situation!

The tax is what makes it sustainable. It's punishing enough that you can't keep paying it forever (so you have to either reduce spedning or increase growth in the medium to long term), but you can still make calculated decisions to invest and see the profits of that later. The tax brackets go up the more successive eyars you're in breach, and there's a hard cap after which you can't sign new players.

To put this in perspective, the LA Clippers are paying $155m to the other 29 NBA teams this season in taxes to allow them to spend ~$200m on wages instead of the allowed $150m.

But the Miami Heat who are only exceding their cap by a bit ($8m) are only paying $13m.

I will have a think about all that after I have stopped laughing at United. My first thought is that it may be useful in the closed-shop world of US sports, but less useful here.

I suspect the chosen "headlined" solution of a "luxury tax" in the article probably has more to do with the source of the article, rather than any finalised proposal. It also talks about "anchors" and other possibilities, after all.

Billionaire Joe Lewis, whose family trust owns Tottenham Hotspur football club, was fined $5m (£4m) Thursday, but will avoid prison after pleading guilty to insider trading.

This is the story of how his plan to enrich his lovers, friends, and employees unravelled.

I'm confused, how could any city player get a move to Liverpool when they already have the bestest players in the world in every position bought for pennies?

Media literacy on here is awful. We frequently see people mistake a journalist reporting a quote as the journalist saying the quote, as well as blaming news outlets for the accuracy of their user comments FFS.

I read F365 most days because it’s a good aggregator. Sometimes they try a bit hard to be funny, but they’ve got nothing against the club unless your standard is that everyone less committed to City than Pete the badge is part of a campaign against the club.

Then again, there is literally not a single news outlet in the sport that hasn’t been deemed to be part of the rag dipper media conspiracy so I don’t know why I even bother pointing out when someone talks that bollocks for the 8,000th time.

It’s intended by the media organisation to portray that way. How many interviews do they have with a polar opposite viewpoint.

The media only exists because of lemmings

I see this ex CEO or what ever he was from Everton has suddenly become the press/media expert on Citys case. He is popping up every with his views on City , Leicester, Newcastle, Chelsea etc. Seems the press/media have decided he is a ffp expert

I mean I’m not sure what your point was….

Your post was that the PL is in a bit of a mess and needs some leadership but this is a multi billion pound business with the issue I already commented on - their ‘customer base’ switched extremely rapidly from a core group of Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal & Spurs pushing to ‘stop’ City to suddenly City being the kingmakers with Utd, Chelsea, Newcastle all in their corner and Liverpool coming around as they can’t afford to be left behind.

It’s like the market overnight deciding the Mach 3 was overkill and we all wanted Bic razors instead, Gillette would look like a bunch of twats for plowing money into R&D on an outdated concept.

All these ‘leaks’ on supposed proposals leave me wondering if the end game for the red cartel and Smithers is to get the EPL to turn round and say that due to confusion amongst its members, surrounding the current rules then everyone starts with a clean slate from next season.
City never get to defend themselves so the shadow hangs forever giving them the high ground for evermore.
Every club has a shadow, to be honest I'd take that just to get all the shit out of the way.

Bad mouthing piss spitters don't really matter.
