How many points will be needed to win the league?

Its official , Dippers fighting with Villa for turd place , we have lost three league games all season , so we would have to lose two of our last six to give the Dippers a sniff , and there will still be deluded Dippers thinking like Jim Carey in Dumber & Dumber "so i've got a chance" :)
That would be great if they managed to come 4th in a 3 horse race, its probably unlikely but can only hope.

They have two games in hand on Villa. That’s why I said they could be going for CL football. There is no way they roll over.

Wouldn't expect them to roll over even if they had 4th secured and untouchable by then. Nobody wants to get beat, at home, in the penultimate game of the season. If we win there, it will be because we outplayed them. If they take points of us because they are fighting for a top 4 spot, as someone has already pointed out they will have already taken points off Arsenal too.

Ultimately, it is too far ahead. At 4 points behind, we have two must win games coming up to get back to the top of the table. After that is after that.

It's not about Klopp checking out, it's about them running like mad earlier in the season and being fatigued.

Which is what could happen with Arsenal still. Said the same yesterday but got "they've only got 4 games to play" responses. They've had a few who have played so much football and at 5-0 up on Tuesday they were still chasing everything and chest bumping like it was 1-0 in the CL final. All unnecessary when you have to go again.

I am convinced Arsenal drop at least 2pts in their remaining games. I think we need 5 wins from our 6.

Go to Fulham and win and I think we will be in a position to win it at Spurs. We probably won't and will have to wait for the final day to have another chance though!

People have been saying for weeks arsenal had the hardest fixtures and they couldn't see liverpool dropping anymore points.Liverpool have dropped 6 points, arsenal have already dropped 3 points, predicting anyone to win all their games at this time of the season is a fools game. There is every chance all 3 teams will still drop points.

Arsenal are performing better than I expected. Liverpool have performed worse than I have expected. We have performed pretty much as I expected us to. It is indeeed a fool's game though, agree there.

It would be so fucking Spursy for them to beat us and hand Arsenal the title. I'm hoping that game is a freebie for us, or I'll be shitting it. So many sub plots at this time of the year, all just noise generally, but that's something you could trust Spurs to go and do!

Their crowd would be genuinely wanting us to win if that's where we were at.

I can see us getting done on GD. I know we always seemingly turn invincible during this stage of the season but I’d be amazed if we win all of our remaining games. Tottenham are going to have a huge say on things.

Spot on. Think in Peps time we have won all 6 once. Caveat being we had to win all 6 that time!

Spurs last six games:

28th April - Arsenal (h)
2nd May - Chelsea (a)
5th May - Liverpool (a)
11th May - Burnley (h)
14th May - City (h)
19th May - Sheff Utd (a)

Villa last four games:

27th April - Chelsea (h)
5th May - Brighton (a)
13th May - Liverpool (h)
19th May - Palace (a)

With the conference league as well I can see that battle staying alive until we play them. It wouldnt necessarily be a bad thing them having to win the game. Could do their usual snatch and grab back to them!

I know a few Spurs fans and the overwhelming consensus is that they would rather finish 5th and we win the league than they finish 4th and Arse win it.

With spuds playing Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool before us is sure to take something out of them for when they play us and if they beat Arsenal when they fresh we might only need a point at spuds

Same mate. But they don't play for the team, and Son might not get the memo! Anyway long way to go before then. The Rags could beat Arsenal and do us a favour...we will see. Spurs can beat Arsenal for starters and we will go from there!

I know mate. I know a few Spurs fans through work and they hate Arsenal and Liverpool much more. Decent lads to be fair. The crowd will want us to win, but what happens on the pitch could be different. As I said, typical Spurs to win a game they don't want to! This is the club who got Mourinho in to win a trophy then sacked him a week before a final!

Or they might be desperate for a redemption win after three losses to rival teams.

It is just too far away.

As it stands, we have to win our next two games, to keep it in our hands. Maybe 3, maybe even 4, depending on how things go. All before we even have to think about Spurs. We have brighton, forrest, wolves and fulham next, and 3 of those are away. Tonight is the one that matters.

I don't think for a minute that the Spurs players would change their game. That sort of thing only happens in the minds of fans. Totally agree it would be typical Spurs - and typical City - for them to win it and hand the title to Arsenal. A classic Premier League story.

I know it means nothing but we are due a slip up in a title race. It's never happened before but it will one day. Any team can lose a game they deserve to win - as we saw against Real Madrid. One red card or one deflection or an injury or two and in 45 minutes the title can be gone.

That's a bit nuts, if you think about it at all. It's qualification for the CL! Apart from anything else, it represents reasonably serious money if you get through to the latter stages.

Well, it's already happened at least four times that I can think of this season! Starting with the game at the Emirates. Which we certainly didn't deserve to win. But neither did they. They offered not one jot more than us.

Listen, we should really be dispatching Brighton with ease. They have won twice in 4 months against the bottom 2 and are missing almost their entire first team.
Agree with this. If we’re on form and we’ve recovered physically from the rigours of the last week we could put a few goals past this lot. They’re severely depleted by injuries and are one of the few teams who don’t park the bus against us
