PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

5x whatever the bottom of the league bring in. So Sheff Utd look like 100m+ for this year so City could spend 500m.

And let's not forget, the current situation isn't normal.

In the history of English football, there has never been the kind of inequality we see today.

While City are one of the only clubs affected, we shouldn't be complaining (and I realise you're not), that we're ONLY allowed to spend 5 times as much as other clubs in the same division.

It's an agreement in principle not an agreement a long way to go before that happens,it will get thrashed out and changed and be meaningless when it comes into force

More than likely.

The fact that they are willing to push this idea gives cause for a little concern though.
Because it'll make a European super league a bit more likely. :(

Makes me laugh the amount of fans that want these rules.
The only thing it will achieve is it will make the PL weaker and the owners richer.
Fans won’t see any benefit.
I said it tongue in cheek, but it would be interesting to see what excuse some of the apologists for the club would come up with if these regulations were to come in and then we see another increase.

I may have misunderstood you, but that doesn't mean the bottom club could only spend £100m and we could spend £500m. It means everybody is limited to £500m

Our annual wage bill is about £200m and we have recently spent £50m on agents fees per season, so that leaves us £250m to spend on players

That's seems more than enough seeing as Pep has spent on average about £150m per season since he's been at the club, but that doesn't even account for transfers out. Seems more than enough to keep us going as we are

"IF".

I've just read an overview, but the one thing no one seems to know is if the five times figure includes transfers, wages & agents fees.

This would give City £530m headroom based on last season, BUT more disturbingly, if the calculation included all the above & our wage bill is North of £400m, we'd be limited to £130m net spend. However, is this figure reduced when sales are taken into account?

Also, I've seen our wage bill estimates ranging between £200m - £400m, which will have a huge bearing on the above.

All these bullshit FFP/PSR rule changes just to stop City. Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water...

But it’ll have a profound impact on other clubs. Look at United and their wage bill?

I am tired of these ffp rules, constant fucking changes.

whats this new shit now? all clubs can spend maximum same amount? yet we have an uefa set of rules which is somewhat different...

soon enough there will be a transfer job market for best accountants who understand all the sides, risks of these new rules and Uefa rules etc.

I bet current change stems from that current rules still allow City to spend a lot and would allow it too next few seasons too until our revenues are high up. you wouldnt see these changes all the time if it would suit dippers, Arse, rags sharing top3 regularly while limiting others.

funny enough all these rules start to catch up with actually the likes of rags and Chelsea, and it limits them more due to their obscene money wasting for so long.
