Chelsea were only founded in 1905. City had already won their first trophy the year before.

Chelsea were so hapless for decades that in the 1930s somebody wrote and recorded a comedy song called "On The Day That Chelsea Went And Won The FA Cup".

Edit: Norman Long in 1933. It starts about 3.25 minutes in.

Another reference for the teenagers there.......... ;-)

That BBC story is a pathetic.

If that is being published today with an obvious presumption of guilt throughout, then I’m finding it hard to believe City sent out any legal letters recently to mainstream media.

Just read that beeb piece on us. Interesting that it's not attributed to anyone, takes rather large liberties with the facts, as well as assuming our guilt.

Hatchet job has all the illiterate ramblings of sly-mon stone.

Let's hope we get the co op arena sorted for when we end up in the Beezer homes league! ;-/

Heard a clip of Simon Jordan saying Palmer deserves player of the year as Foden shone in a great team whereas Palmer shone in an average team.

Here’s the thing. If we spend big money it’s seen as a given that we should then be winning everything, when Chelsea spend close to 1 billion in a year (a figure we’ve never been near) they still can use the excuse that they’re an average team.

When you argue that Pep didn’t take over a top top team as we had just scraped a 4th place finish with an aging squad the reply is come on look at the money that squad cost.

Goalposts move when it’s another club

Surely it is better to stand out in a great team than to stand out in an average team?

Definitely.
Foden has assumed the mantle of perhaps, the most important player, in an almost unique team, that has just won the Treble.
His collection of trophies for a 23 year old is unprecedented.
Chelsea were in a very unusual situation, due to signing (and selling) so many players.
Because of the new owner, no club that I can remember, had such a turnaround of personnel, including new manager Pochetino.
There's a saying that if you throw enough shite at a wall, then some will stick.
Palmer is the bit that has stuck.
Yes, he has been excellent, but in a team that until the most recent games, have been very unpredictable.
Well done Cole, but the expectation is so much lower.
Let's see what happens next season.
The Media will be quick enough to completely forget him or attack him if he deteriorated...

Exactly. Cant forget the outcry from the press when Ryan Giggs won it starting 6 games all season. Oh, hang on….

Let’s face it we are never gonna get any accolades or praise for being the best English team ever , our success will always be tainted only City fans will stand up for what we have achieved.

Tainted schmainted

The record books are the only reference point that matters, all the rest is tittle tattle. Ten, twenty, fifty, a hundred years from now people will look at the list of our achievements and be in no doubt that we’re the best team ever to play football on these shores

We won't have to wait that long.

As soon as Pep leaves the media won't be able to help themselves. They'll be highlighting every single achievement we've made during his tenure.

Of course, what they'll fail to remind the masses of is that we were winning Premier League titles before Pep arrived (that won't suit the narrative).

The broadcasting media and the British Press can't bring themselves to fully acknowledge our success right now because it feels to them that by doing so will seal the fate of our red top competitors.

I actually wouldn't be that bothered if Foden didn't win the PFA award. I don't think there was a single outstanding candidate this year and 3 or 4 have had very good seasons and wouldn't begrudge any of them winning it.

The more we win the more I like it. The more we win the more we stop any of those red shirted twat`s winning anything. The more I like that too.

The bbc article about ‘when will city…’ appears to have just been updated.
It now is titled ‘when could…’, there are other changes as well. - I guess someone has had a word, but it’s too late the damage is done, the original article was published, read, linked to and digested.
It’s now, as far as I can tell, just accessible under the City section of the site.
There is still no section titled ‘what might happen if City are innocent’ - which should be there from the start, and whomever has had a word with them, needs to have a further word about getting that in , on every related article from now on.
As mentioned by others, there is still no byline of the author of the incredibly biased, myopic, fantasy piece.

The English Red Shirt football media still blowing (net spend) smoke up Jurgen's arse.

Note how United are not mentioned or included in the pictures.
