City fans getting slaughtered on reddit for leaving Cutting Room Square a mess

Does it look great? No, of course not. As already pointed out, though, this is not unique to City fans. Ludicrous to suggest otherwise. A significant minority of people (from all sections of society) don't give a toss about where they dump their rubbish, even if there's plenty of rubbish bins around.

Defo a country/societal issue over here. As you said, people seem to think if they make a mess its up to someone else to clean it up or if its not on my patch I don't care.

Such a cultural difference when I visited Japan last year & caught a few footie games as well as a music festival here & there. Its not as if they don't eat or consume as much food & drink as us lot at these mass gatherings, but it was refreshing to see a majority of people taking ownership of their own mess & tidying up after themselves.

As has been said already, the bins were overflowing and there was nowhere else to put empties. You’re not getting them into the ground, nor would you carry them in the hope of finding a bin down the canal. Leave it there and clean in one go.

Council had a heads up of the meet, so they should have had a clean team on hand earlier.

Exactly, it's expected and council will clean it. People acting like we've held an illegal rave in a beauty spot or something.

My daughter has an Apartment overlooking the square. She said it was absolutely disgraceful how they trashed the place. Probably the same Neanderthal’s that tried to invade the pitch before the game was over yesterday. Blues or not, absolute pond life the lot of them.
Trashed? Did they break anything or was it just cans, bottles and bags? If so I think the best way is to leave it there rather than spread it far and wide and likely end up in the canal. Makes it an easier tidy up really.

Reddit is the cesspool for opinions that even twitter doesn't want. I tend to stay away from social media but having used reddit for a few other things it was my guilty pleasure to browse the football threads when i had a minute or two to pass.

I got permanently banned from the football thread with zero warning simply for quoting a news article about liverpool fans having a reduced allocation for the game at our place last year and called the person who threw a cup of coins at a young girl scaring her for life scum.

Pile it beside the bins?
That was done as well.

AS was that packed in places you could hardly move.

When the bins are full, overflowing, and you can’t move, people will put their cans, bottles and rubbish on the floor. Other than the limited bins in AS, there are hardly any other bins down the side streets leading off AS. There are some bins on GAS, but not many. Maybe MCC could have put 1 or 2 skips in the corners of AS for the rubbish. The city council knew AS was going to be packed on Sunday.

Trashed the place in what way ? All i could see was rubbish, and too be fair if no bins you ain't taking it to the ground with you.

Reddit is a shithole populated by basement dwelling peadophiles and degenerates with hairy necks and posters of cartoon women on their walls. Obviously a location will be left in a poor state after a raucous title celebration. That's why cleaners exist.

You were there weren't you:-)

Typical of present day British culture, you wouldn’t see that from the Japanese
No, but the Japanese male tourist would happily upskirt your blonde teenage daughter when they think they can get away with it.

City fans chanting heading towards the Etihad from Ancoats Square. ( I quite like this picture)

Jacamo's day out.

Hate litter but.. ? where the hell are the bins?. Fans are hardly going to carry empty cans around with them.
