PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

As a long time reader of this board I really like tolmie and enjoying reading his posts. However I can’t help but feel recently he just posts ambiguous stuff on Twitter to try and farm reactions. Throw enough shit and some of it will stick approach.

Hardly ambiguous, matey!

Couldn't be clearer.

I am not farming reactions, I'm not earning money from it, learned very quickly that I can't go down the route.

Joined Twitter to fight City's corner against media and others, but also because my job has changed this last year and it affords me less time to devote, as opposed to longer conversations with the bretheren on here.

Personal view on Tolmie's info updates (don't know the guy personally and have never met him) however I have noticed he's right most times than not. Regarding his sources and the information he receives, I have no doubt that it's being supplied by someone within the club and that what he's been told, he's been told.

The only question mark is as to the accuracy and integrity that the person within the club sharing this info is being with TH. Sometimes they might be exaggerating a touch, maybe chinese whispers, misrepresenting the reality of what's going on or only hearing second hand info. So whilst I don't doubt that what Tolmie shares he has been told (i.e. he's not making anything up himself or embellishing it and that sources within the club have genuinely shared it with him), the question mark is on the sharer and whether the information is as accurate as what they've told TH, however, not knowing the circles he runs it at City, I cannot reflect or opinionate on the sources he has or their character.

My question to @tolmie's hairdoo would be if his post this morning is an expectation from someone connected to the club rather than a statement of fact?

The only way it could be the latter would be if it is all done and dusted awaiting an announcement.
Maybe get the cup final out of the way first...

Totally disagree with the "throw enough shit and some of it will stick approach" as I've been reading/following Tolm for years and find him very informative and probably the most ITK person i know. He has not always been correct in the players we are supposedly close to signing (nobody is!) but IMO always posts in good faith. If you dont believe pf like what he's posting, either on BM or Twitter, then dont read it .... simples really pal.

Blabbermouth Jordan with an interesting new take on the charges on TalkShite

Called out the number 115 as bullshit and stated it's really 4 or 5 and of that 4 or 5 only 2 matter in any material way. He did say he thinks city have a case to answer (his prerogative) but I found the fact that he was at pains to all of a sudden change tact from sensationalist 115 to 2...

Yes, I know he's a **** but I think this highlights the significant calming of the rhetoric from some camps in the MSM
Jordan has definitely softened his position. I think he gets most of his info from his pals who are close to the PL leadership (current and former PL club directors) so this is probably positive for City. The City "had a case to answer" line may well be one of the narratives the PL try and use as a comms message ie "We had no choice but to investigate because of the allegations made in the media and concern from other clubs."

I’ve tried to keep this as simple as possible: as a financial analyst who puts great stock in the veracity of financial statements, as long as we’ve committed no accounting fraud I don’t care what what we’re “guilty” of. If we’re cleared it will change positively nothing among the nattering nabobs who’ll merely claim global politics, corruption, technicalities, etc. Not a single public person nor entity who’s disparaged the club will reverse course — not a single one. There will and can be no “vindication” in their eyes regardless of facts, period, end of. As such, I will feel no additional pleasure at the outcome if it’s positive for us, since it doesn’t change anything regarding how I feel about our side, nor will it change others who believe in asterisks, taint, etc. They may talk less (doubtful) but they’ll never be convinced.

This is exactly right. Most people have their minds made up already that we’re guilty.

Me?

Again I totally agree with this as that's my thinking too. I honestly don't doubt the information Tolmie has been told but I do question if it's posturing from the club/them expressing their confidence or if the info is completely factual based on genuine knowledge that this has collapsed or the process is now merely a formality where BOTH sides know it's done.

It's a huge difference, and I realise Tolmie may not have an answer to that.

Yep.

I've gone beyond caring too much what the loons on social media, pundits and content creators masquerading as journalists say.

Likewise ignorant or oafish rival supporters who cling to the cheat tag to stop themselves dwelling on their own teams failings.

Last year I remember Tolmie saying with certainty that Erling was coming to City. There were those who believed him and those who most certainly did not and were keen to make sure everyone knew it. Gradually Tolmie explained that he knew this not because of something he'd heard but because of something he had seen. Some time after Erling had signed he explained that he had seen forms concerning his medical insurance. This tells us that Tolmie is not an animated ventriloquist's dummy who simply repeats willy nilly what he hears but someone with contacts who listens and then evaluates it as evidence. This tweet is very definite, Tolmie is very sure and even though he hasn't identified the source we all know Tolmie well enough to know that we would be very wise to take it very seriously. I am certain one of the first things Tolmie has asked is if his source(s) is/are in a position to know or express a valid opinion and he must be satisfied on this point. Does experience show their opinion to be an informed and trustworthy one? If Tolmie is satisfied that the source is both credible and reliable. That doesn't mean that what Tolmie says will inevitably come to pass but it is to be taken seriously and is very encouraging. From me, and many others, thank you Tolmiw.

Everything he just said ;)
