It's not even just the goal. He had a lot of moments where he looked erratic and stuck in his decision making.

He isn't a bad keeper, and I'm happy with him as a backup, but he's the backup at best.

Yeah I agree. It was on both of them. Saying that we have conceded about 20 sloppy goals this season so not a surprise. The other one was just way too easy.

I recall the game vs Huddersfield when Dias left it for him but Ortega never came and retreated back but managed to save the shot. Not sure whether Ortega shouted for it that time or the defence it just so used to Eddy coming out and dealing with it.

Exactly. You either need to be out far earlier to guarantee you're the first to the ball, or you need to give your defender a valid option for a pass. He did neither.

The good far outweighs the bad for the season at least.

He's good enough to be number 1 but yeah Eddie is just so confident and that's really important for a goalie. Although I do think going forward Steffen might have a say.

Strangely hesitant for that first goal yesterday. Reminded me of Bravo charging out every time the ball got near our box.

Ederson has his faults but his confidence when coming out (for the most part anyway) will no doubt help the defenders too.

It’s very clever wording by Txiki, and quite clearly intended to send the message to Eddie that he’s still number 1 if he chooses to stay and sign a new deal.
