Micah Richards the pundit

He’s not a great pundit, but I think it’s a bit lame if people are getting annoyed about him supporting Arsenal, given that was his boyhood team. He’s always fair about us and was a good club servant. Some of the grief he gets is ridiculous for an ex-player who gave his all for the club.
Is he always fair about us? I suppose in his way, he is - not his fault he's too thick to make adequate replies, comments and take others to task.
He could support a Liverpool and United Select XI for all I care - he's an absolute hopeless pundit, no matter how much of his "all" he gave so that we may live (apologies, but just because he played for us, butters no parsnips. I believe he got renumerated).

He is a crap pundit. Sorry don’t care if he played for city and don’t care that he is an Arsenal fan. He got on tv because he won a league for us and to create the illusion of a pro city pundit.

He is awful and not funny. I don’t want funny unless you can back it up with taking proper football tactics. Bantz tho innit?

This 100%
He offers nothing. No tactical knowledge, nothing insightful. Ok, he played for us...wonderful...but there is absolutely nothing about him that makes watching pre and post match shows required viewing.
Sorry, Micah, there's nowt there, lad

In fairness he didn't give his all for the club, he has admitted he thought he had made it. He has said he was pissed off that Zab took his place(a proper pro) and he actually got paid to play for us.

So to summarise he got paid handsomely to do a job he eased off on.

He's doing a cracking job of talking up City and speaking out on big issues, exactly the sort of person we need on TV. He brings some lightheartedness to the panel too.

He's been on Sky and BBC a few times now and he's been brilliant every time, keep it up Micah!

Edit:
And just like that I find him annoying as fuck now.
Lol! Quality editing from the OP :)

It all comes down to what psychologists call Betrayal Trauma.
He was supposed to be our voice on the stage of Public opinion. Defend and promote the club like other pundits are allowed to do for red top teams.
He hasn't once stuck his neck out and called out the negativity from other pundits about City.
"Innocent until proven guilty"
"No evidence of cheating"
"Found innocent by CAS of all charges"
"Investment in local areas"
"Fabulous academy"
"Shaping modern football and influencing players, coaches, and fans"
"Best coached team, players playing exquisite football"
"Flagship team for the premier league around the world"
"Broke up the old monopoly"

These phrases should be on his lips all the time. But, he avoids the more controversial opinions because he is protecting his own brand.
Maybe the sky brass have told him what he can't say, but that makes the betrayal even worse. He's our man, but only when it suits sky.

Not sure why people think he was employed as a city pundit or is expected to be favourable.to us henleft us amd had plenty of senior playing years at other clubs.

He is employed because his social media presence (big meeks) is good and also they think the younger generation don't want stuffed shirt bores lile murphy or souness, so they got someone with a giddy personality and also found he bounces off keanes morbidnes well.

His insight isn't great and he sits on the fence quite a bit, annoying to many but entertaining to others.

not a great pundit and I don't expect him to be pro city any more than hargreves or sturridge etc

I am more amazed how jamie redknap is still on.

wtf? On his podcast he has said a million times he was a boyhood Arsenal fan but loves City having come through here.

Imagine being a grown ass man and actually giving a fuck who someone else supports.

its an utter nonsense. Back in 2007 he gave interviews about how he was an Arsenal fan. This ‘hiding’ his allegiance is, for some, just another thing to attack him about.

Ah well - that 2007 interview puts it all to bed. There are plenty of "things" you are right - taken in isolation.... But taken with the whole - there's not much he brings other than as the fun house clown that isn’t particularly funny - he's absolutely appalling as a pundit.
The vacuous, inane, laddie roadtrip shite is probably more his calling. I suppose he saves on canned laughter.

His book was available for 99p on kindle so being a tight fucker I thought I'd give it a go. Not that likeable really and rated himself a bit too highly.

That pretty much sums him up for me. Awful pundit, though he's not alone there. And that road trip thing (what I've seen of it;I tried watching it once, I lasted 15 minutes) is truly horrific television. But the "bantz" generation will lap it up. And I'm guessing he makes more in a week than I earn in a year so he can certainly laugh his bollocks off. As for who he supports; who really gives a fuck?

I always forget how many miserable cunts there are on here.

You don't like punditry. You complain about every **** who steps foot in the studio. He's not serious enough. He's too dour. He supports a team I don't like. He said something that isn't entirely pro-City. He's wearing a jacket I don't like. He used to play for us but doesn't kiss our arse. He tweets stuff I don't like.

Nobody in their right mind watches the punditry for anything more than a couple of minutes. And we've got people here who hate the entire fucking concept of it but will sit and watch every second.

Find a hobby. One that doesn't consist of looking around your immediate environment to spot something you can complain about. Your family and loved ones will benefit from it.
