Uh..............................NO!!!
No chance, he is way off at this time, another young player who did not listen to us and went back to Sheffield.
His career has stalled and he needs to up his game hugely this coming season.

Another vote for Adam Wharton. Comfortable on the ball, good positional awareness, has the thought process to move the ball forward rather than always the safe card: sideways/backwards. And he has some bite to his game, looks like he wants to boss his area, a good prospect.

Is Wharton any better than Perrone? Look very similar to me.

They are definitely very similar and I don’t think one is much better than the other. Perrone was brilliant in pre-season and played very well for Las Palmas until he randomly got dropped for the last month of La Liga. Wharton looks like a great prospect, but he’s played less than 20 PL games for a team on a purple patch. Don’t think he would be an upgrade on Kovacic, Nunes or Bernardo currently. A case of shiny toy syndrome. Long term he’s gonna be a great player, but not sure he’s that far ahead of Perrone or Tommy Doyle
Perrone looked a player but during his loan he has looked very, very ordinary.

Have watched a few vids of Wharton
Not sure he would suit us.
Likes to sit deep and spray pirlo like passes around. We kind of don’t do that fast break stuff.
Makes good tackles and interceptions.
Doesn’t seem to have that sharpness and intensity in tight spaces to his play that pep would want.
I’m no expert so maybe pep could develop that
I’d rather we bring one of our own through to support Rodri
Jacob wright or Susoho at 18 and 19 respectively have had small amount of game time already

Recall Yan Couto. Need an attacking full back on the right.

Wharton has come in and done it, performed , superbly and consistently, McAtee has not done, stupid going back to Sheffield.
Isn't any better than McAtee the player Chelsea is sniffing around.

Chelsea may be sniffing but on a promise to Maresca who was going to sign him for Leicester, a club City wanted him to go out on loan to last season instead of Sheffield.
The guy is somewhat up his own arse and has started to think he is better than he is.

I'd be inclined to get him back to the club and replace Gomez, I just dont think he is going to hack it at this level.
He won't get the games he desperately needs, I think we will sell but with a good buy back and big sell on clause.
I think he has lost the trust of the club after not taking our advice.

Doyle would have been more suitable to being the one 'instead of Wharton' from those out on loan but alas.
Doyle is an honest, hard working pro who will have a very good career.
But there is a lot of romance concerning him due to the name and inlaws.
