PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Liverpool - Sponsored by a bank that funds terrorism, launders money, breaks international sanctions.

Media reaction - Fine and all above board, great that one of our renowned chartered banks is linked to that fine football club.

Arsenal - Sponsored by a country with appalling human rights abuse records with atrocities such as arbitrary and illegal detentions and genocide.

Media reaction - Fine and all above board. Great to see a "developing" country investing in such a renowned football club. The government are returning that investment by offering people who entered our country after fleeing oppression from their country of origin safe haven in such a beautiful country that Rwanda is. And all for free.

Manchester United - A club over £¾ billion in debt, majority owned by a family who have taken out far more money than they have invested into the club. Minority owned by a British multi billionaire who has dodged paying tax to this country by a loophole that allows him to save £4 billion per year.

Media reaction - Nothing wrong here, great to see a British person investing into such a renowned football club who we fawn over no matter what

Manchester City - bought by wealthy Sheik Mansour, Sponsored by a prestigious renowned Airline, owner has invested millions of pounds in regenerating a very socially and economically deprived area of Manchester transforming it into a thriving, money generating area for the local and national economy.

Media reaction - cheating bastards, state owned and funded by dirty oil money. A pariah to the Premier League, The FA and UEFA. Should be relegated, titles stripped and fined. This club should be wiped from the face of the earth for the good of the game and not be mentioned in the same breath as those other fine upstanding clubs.
That post needs to be sent to the Football365 mailbox

My absolute favourite example of the hypocrisy involved, was that bizarre banner at the Emirates a couple of seasons ago. I can't remember the exact wording, but it was having a pop at 'oil money' and referring to their history. A banner, in that stadium, bemoaning Middle Eastern investment, that wasn't a parody... Wow.
I'd rather be sponsored by "dirty oil money" than be sponsored by a terrorist funding bank or a country renowned for genocide.

Not taking the high ground here, just taking the most moralistic view.

There hasn’t been a meeting between UK Government and UAE about this.

The discussion took place between the UK *** Government and the UK embassy in UAE. Basically the UK ***Government was holding an internal meeting but it’s been spun into an audience with Sheikh Mansour.

Disingenuous bollocks.

*** The Foreign Office

Would be interested to know the views of those in the know in relation to whether they think we would be taking legal action over the AP sponsorship rules if t wasn't for the charges?

Sure we would. Why not? Damages are damages. Discrimination is discrimination. Anti-competitive business practices are ..... You get my drift :)

Brilliant

I have defended Ziegler before. He has led the way with leaks from the UEFA and PL investigations. They have all been legitimate news stories. If people leak stuff it will be reported. But that Foreign Office story is just bollocks. You are correct though. It confirms how low the media has sunk.
Led the way with leaks? Being given confidential info from an ongoing case to try and turn the tide of public opinion against one side is nothing to be proud of.

Think you under sold the rags and Sir Ratface there. His company is an oil company who basically rape and pillage 3rd world countries for their own resources

I could do but let's leave it to the 3 sanctimonious, hypocritical, self-important, media luvvy clubs who have got a massive agenda against City. These are the ones making the most noise, the most unsubstantiated, ridiculous claims and the ones with the most to lose.

But if you want to add more to the post, feel free.

But they'll say his company is a British oil company so it's not dirty oil money unlike those middle Eastern types.

But feel free to edit the post and add that to it.

No true blue should ever read the MUEN. It’s utter horseshit.
I agree they are anything but a City supporting local media outlet.

Even if the were and had decent journalism, I still wouldn’t read it as it is the worst and most frustrating site to access due to constant adverts and slow performance

This - I don't know of any other website that is plagued by the amount of shit that that site has - and then there's the adverts.
