City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Deputy Prime Minister is a low down ceremonial role with no actual power. It just sounds fancy, which is the point.

Vice President is a very powerful role and Mansour was put into that as part of a powerplay by his brother against the Al Maktoum family.

Suggesting we're owned by the UAE is absolutely bonkers and absolutely false. Suggesting we're owned by Abu Dhabi is less bonkers and false. It's fair to say that we were purchased by Sheikh Mansour personally but are an asset of the Al-Nayhan family. The word is that one of his sons, likely Sheikh Hamdan (think hes about 14 now), will be joining the board once they've finished all their schooling and what have you. He's been a fan since birth and has been to quite a lot of City games around the world. Sheikh Mansour is a huge football fan and sports are one of the ways that he seems to spend time with his kids. It has long been rumoured that he wants City to be a thing passed down through his personal family.

My old man used to take me fishing.
In family dynasties many roles are ' ceremonial' but significant in the hierarchy and public perception.

They are usually in place to prevent coupes from developing.

Sheikh Mansour is a significant figure in the current UAE hierarchy but a very regular guy when out with his family and mates.

One of his wives is a daughter of Muhammad Maktoum leader of Dubai.

Because they are shit scared of the American red shirted cartel
Similar to the pl and the dippers.

Money money money this is the route cause of all this, even the prick Jordan finishes his long winded opinions with this.

There’s barely a single journalist having the balls to be even slightly impartial because of this.

Slaughter city and watch the clicks and money roll in.

Talkshite has now become a mouthpiece of anti city agenda and even employ cunts like goldbridge who publicly called us cheating cunts!!

Unfortunately we live in a world dominated by greed and whatever the truths of the subject matter if there’s money to be made
These organisations will capitalise on it.

We’ve literally got every journalist, newspaper, sport stories, podcasts, YouTube vids, and almost every fan in the country and abroad against us every fucking day.

Without stefan at least trying to be impartial we’d have nothing right now.

I truly hope we come out of this unscathed
And go after some of the libelous bastards.
The Kieran Maguire/Kevin Day podcast posted on here yesterday was very fair in putting City’s case across. They had a copy of the full document.

No. It was a complete and total clusterfuck from the club.
They saw the £££$$$ signs and jumped on board. It was all
about money. Fuck the fans. Fuck the league and it's structure,
show us the money. Exactly the same for all of the clubs involved,
and no different for us. And as for allowing Joel Glazer to publish
an article on the official club website to both defend and support
the project is, for me, unforgivable. Sometimes you can't defend
the indefensible just because its our club.
Prior to the ESL fiasco I genuinely thought our owners were different to the US lot, that made the whole thing harder to swallow. The only minor defence of the club is that they were given a now or never decision with incredibly high commercial stakes. We weren’t involved from the outset, we were probably even there to make up the numbers, but things changed that day and it’s so obvious now what the clubs priorities are when it comes to margins against the the mere wants and needs of legacy fans.

That said it’s absolutely not us that are the enemies of the game, as is being portrayed. The red clubs have a charge sheet as long as your arm when it comes to snide, underhand ‘reforms’ which are dressed up as being for the good of the game, but are really for the good of themselves. The APT amendment is just the latest example and they’re using their media buddies to whip up a frenzy, which will ultimately damage City and in the long term benefit themselves.

Once again, clear and organised, the true enemies of the game.

Just had a mooch on RAWK.

They’re frantically trying to sort out a situation where them, the rags, Arsenal and Spurs either

a) refuse to take part and “go somewhere else and start our own league up”.

Or

b) all flounce off from the PL and join the EFL.

Even their ideas mean more.
and they'll be taking their ball with them too, so there..!!

EXCL: Premier League fails in bid to close loophole letting clubs use profits from sale of hotels, training grounds, other tangible assets in FFP submissions. Proposal at AGM fell short of 2/3 majority needed (votes 11/20). W/ @mjshrimper @TheAthleticFC
What utter fucking chaos. The EPL are totally incompetent and led by clowns. Something that could totally fuck up their PSR rules and they’re basically split 50/50 ! And City have them in arbitration starting Monday :)
How much longer can that ass-clown Masters hang on ?

Thanks for sharing. Seems to cut through all of the bullshit nicely
It is far more balanced than the rest of the lunacy out there, but still fails to specify and address the basic premise that City are challenging, and also tries (of course) to conflate the issue with that of the entirely separate 115 shite.
As for us being a 'trophy' asset, well we may be more visual than most of SM's investments but we're not just a showpiece, I mean he has to be £2bn or so up on asset value from the date he acquired it, nett after outlay and subsequent investment..?

What a mess.

Investors can't invest, sponsors can't sponsor, clubs are selling hotels to themselves, every club, us included, are trying to draft the rulebook to give themselves an advantage, rules are being backdated.

I don't know why City seems to be getting all the ire on this, the league is a joke. I suspect the challenge to voting rights is partly pointing out that if 2/3rds of your mates decide to come and shit in your bed then it still doesn't make it right.

Don't even know what the answer is. The whole thing is fucked.

Presumably any club who may get close to the FFP limit will want hte option to sell a training ground to their owner.

You can only do that once though. Maybe at City we could sell off the individual named pitches one at a time when the need arises....

The Yaya Toure training pitch? Thanks for asking Sheikh Mansour, that'll be £40m....

It's just ridiculous they don't have a sensible set of rules after 10 years. They have been so hell-bent on using them to stop City, they are an absolute mess.

For once, you have to admire UEFA for putting together a set of rules that are sensibly enforceable. I suppose that is the minimum you should expect, though.

I don't know the details, but it does seem to suggest that:
- give money to club to build something (exempt from FFP)
- club build it
- club can then sell it back if needed (and keep the money for FFP)

I'm hoping that someone will say that's not how it works - I can't see immediately how it wouldn't.

The PL have brought this on themselves by stopping people from investing their own money and now stopping people putting money in via sponsors, accountants have just found ways to be more creative as was always going to be the case.

He is the PL's Platini, except without the French "penchant" for fighting for what is right (yes, I know).

If Platini had got FFP right in the first place, we would be in a much better place now. The spunkbubble.
Chaos in the power vacuum.
