PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Liverpool - Sponsored by a bank that funds terrorism, launders money, breaks international sanctions.

Media reaction - Fine and all above board, great that one of our renowned chartered banks is linked to that fine football club.

Arsenal - Sponsored by a country with appalling human rights abuse records with atrocities such as arbitrary and illegal detentions and genocide.

Media reaction - Fine and all above board. Great to see a "developing" country investing in such a renowned football club. The government are returning that investment by offering people who entered our country after fleeing oppression from their country of origin safe haven in such a beautiful country that Rwanda is. And all for free.

Manchester United - A club over £¾ billion in debt, majority owned by a family who have taken out far more money than they have invested into the club. Minority owned by a British multi billionaire who has dodged paying tax to this country by a loophole that allows him to save £4 billion per year.

Media reaction - Nothing wrong here, great to see a British person investing into such a renowned football club who we fawn over no matter what

Manchester City - Bought by wealthy Sheik Mansour, Sponsored by a prestigious renowned Airline, owner has invested millions of pounds in regenerating a very socially and economically deprived area of Manchester transforming it into a thriving, money generating area for the local and national economy.

Media reaction - cheating bastards, state owned and funded by dirty oil money. A pariah to the Premier League, The FA and UEFA. Should be relegated, titles stripped and fined. This club should be wiped from the face of the earth for the good of the game and not be mentioned in the same breath as those other fine upstanding clubs.
This needs going national.

If we were not successful, none of this would be an issue. The combination of success, rapid growth, playing style and accusation is absolutely toxic in a nation that despises winners, especially when they are brown.
True.

No-one cares about Newcastle really

I suspect it's more than them being sympathetic. I suspect that if you follow the chain upwards there will be some link between either the yanks at the rags, dippers or bottlers and those that own dominoes, be that personal links or financial agreements. It stinks of propaganda.
A little bit of research shows that the head of marketing at Domino's is a united fan from Dublin. Been there just over a year.

His likes on Twitter are the confirmation I needed.

They're all part of a clique and you don't need to look far. In June 2022, for example;

"Whitbread, the owner of the Premier Inn hotel chain, has confirmed the current boss of Domino’s Pizza will replace Alison Brittain as its chief executive next year"

Alison, of course, left to become "Chair" of our beloved PL.

There doesn’t seem to be the same anger at city challenging a rule compared to Chelsea using loop holes of selling hotels to get round psr now it’s been ratified by the Premier League. Could you imagine the outpouring of rage if City had tried that.
Chelsea are shit though so they don't care.

Wonder if his bosses in America know he's alienating a large number of customers?
When you consider the crap these big US food chains market at scandolous prices then It makes me wonder why anyone eats at KFC, Dominoes, Macs, or drinks the over priced coffee at Starbucks etc, and thats before any of them slag City off.

Chelsea aren't winning trophies that they believe are rightfully theirs

Could you imagine the outpouring of rage if our most prominant sponsor was allegedly laundering money for terrorists?

Or a tax dodging scruffy **** avoiding paying his way to the British economy , who then wants the British tax payer to fund “the Wembley of the north?” No stone would be unturned if that was City. But it’s United isn’t it ? And Liverpool who have airbrushed the shit they caused for clubs qualifying to play in European competitions for three seasons.

On one of the Matt Lawton links I made a comment that City are only raising some legal issues, have no intention of wanting to rule the world, and regardless of outcome, the process will have nothing to do with the 115 charges.

I got twitter notifications of 15 responses, but within an hour the number had reduced to 9.

Not sure of the exact reasoning, but I'm guessing that fans of other clubs wishing me a violent death are frowned upon by the Twitter censors.

I just hope that a more vulnerable City supporter (or indeed fans of any club) don't receive similar vitriol.

Otherwise the Times might have blood on their hands.
