I hate the rags as much as the next man but tbh you sound a bit raggy . He’s an inexperienced player combining well with Phil . Good luck to him- in an England shirt .

It’s the first game they’ve played using Phil properly and it’s glaringly obvious it’s the way to go, and also noticeable that Bellend is a show pony with no end product. Give the ball to Phil and go where he tells you.
Southgate will probably take him off because he’s making Bellend look bad.
Carry on the same way and it should be 3 or 4-1.
 
I think two things can be true at the same time:

1) It’s probably a penalty (just) because of Dumfries’ studs going toward Kane’s foot, rather than away (which would be the case if he was trying to block the shot, rather than nick the ball away)

2) England were very lucky that VAR decided to have the ref over to watch the incident back—most often those are not given as penalties when the player gets the shot off (as illustrated by the 20 or 30 non-penalty studs up challenges in the box we were on the end of last season).

I think he's a good player on the ball

I've been critical of him for the rags but he was expected to do more defensive duties and try to run the midfield for them, even though he is young and I don't think the defensive side of midfield is his forte

I think if you get a good defensive midfielder behind him and let him play, then they've got a good little player

Bizarre that people think Toney is Ronaldo (R9) all of a sudden. He was lucky to even make this Euro squad to be honest with his 4 goals for the season. It's like when people used to flaff over Rashford lol

I don't think that's fair to Southgate. Foden has had a long leash this tournament and hasn't been near his best. Moving to the right half-space the last two games has certainly benefited him, though.

Didn't we get a penalty similar near the end of the season? Or am I just imagining that? I'm just asking btw, not disagreeing with what you are saying
