TBH. Spain were the best team in the tournament and they turned up in the second half. They went more direct. Played it quicker into the centre not giving England as much time to organise the middle of the box.
They were extremely wasteful though and should have been 3-0 up before you equalised.
I really thought you would kick on from there and win it while you were in their heads, but you reverted to type.
It looked like you were accepting extra time and penalties.
That late second goal was reward for Spain’s persistence with their own plan and punishment for England’s wasteful long ball tactic, giving up possession so easily.

I really thought you were going to take them.
Hard luck guys.
You definitely have a tournament winning squad and it wouldn’t take a lot of tweaking or a change in tactics perhaps to exploit properly the talent you have.

Start by getting rid of Southgate, but don’t replace him with another yes man.

Think what Pep would do with that squad.

Southgate had a good 5 mins, finally finds his bollocks to take the traffic cone Kane off, then dropped the not needed 2 defensive midfielders and put Palmer on and we had them worried. Got back in it then 5 mins later he reverts to type and sits deep again.
Luckiest most useless manager ever, easy qualifying groups, easiest group draw, easiest runs to semi finals and finals but has the lack of skills to get a result against the very few teams who we would not be favourites to beat
Shoo in for the rags job at Christmas.

I'm not saying that if we had kept Kane on the bench that the final result would have changed, but playing 60 minutes of a final with 10 men is generally not a great idea.
Kane makes Phil look bad, absolutely no movement of any kind to give Foden a chance to play him in.
