So unlucky for the girls to finish 4th. USA seemed a cut above but very close between us and a few other teams. Looking forward to the individuals where they go hell for leather without the pressure of costing their teammates a medal.

How these girls do anything on the beam is a mystery to me! They are solid chunks of wood and must be so painful to land on if you get it slightly wrong!

My niece used to do gymnastics right up until her late teens, that was until she broke her coccyx on the beam. I get nervous watching the girls on the beam, but my niece says the back flip on the beam is much easier to do than the front flip because you can spot the beam as you flip backwards.
