Sky Brown guaranteed a medal.

Sat in silver, with the Japanese woman in bronze left to go.

Some performance from Sky, she only dislocated her shoulder a few days ago.

She's due to have surgery on it after the Olympics finishes.

The women’s event at the cycling at the moment looks tough - if we qualify in 4th I assume we ride against NZ who look very strong

Very seldom the Aussies have a poor Olympics. And the host country nearly always over-achieves.

They're overperforming in terms of the colour of the medals though, and we're underperforming. We've got quite a few more medals than them, but 18 of ours are bronze and only 8 of theirs are.

The Aussies are strong in the swimming which has obviously finished now, I think we will end up ahead of them again.

Yes our best ranking in modern times was Rio in 2016 in 2nd but we had more golds in London 2012.
Hopefully we can to 60 plus medals to match the last three Olympics.

Looking at the BBC app, it might work out okay for them. Finishing 3rd means they'll avoid the NZers in the semi final. They'll be up against the 'muricans. Which won't be easy, either. But the Kiwis seem to be the fancied team in this?

Qualified third against some very strong teams - the cycling has got a lot tougher as the other teams have caught up with our technology (and less asthmatics post rag brailsford). I certainly wouldn’t be expecting 8 golds in the cycling, I think 3 or 4 would be remarkable
