On my way to watch The Mighty Darlo play at Oxford City in National League North.

Yes, Oxford in NLN this season.
Sat next to Robbie Savages Mrs on the way to Oxford yest, off to see her son play for Reading.

Very interesting listening to her, other son is a Blue I think.

Really lovely lady.

All roads lead to the Bernabower on Saturday FA Cup

Bridge v Chester

All ticket easily obtained (City need to see how it’s really done) go to Stalybridgeceltic official website

A year on, Merthyr Town in NLN.
Yes,little old Merthyr Town have started the season very well - currently in the play off places.
But, having to continually travel long distances to away games, will probably knacker the squad.
Great to see them doing so well though.
Their best season since they defeated Atalanta in the old European Cup Winners Cup...

They've been doing that for years as they were allowed to dodge the Welsh League when it was formed 30 odd years ago to continue their quest for a return to the Football League. - Newport were shafted by the Welsh FA and forced to play home games in England as they refused to join the Welsh League.-

Agree that as Merthyr (or Newport) decided to stay in the English pyramid, they would travel long distances, but this was in the Southern or Midland sections of the pyramid.
As Merthyr are now in the National League North division, they have to visit Spennymoor, South Shields and Darlington for example.
These are 12+ hour travel times, for a club of Radcliffe Borough's or Buxton's level.
Hopefully, next season if they stay up, they can be moved to the National League South...

Thinking of going to the Fylde match tomorrow.
Looks easy to get to from Blackpool.
Can you just turn up on the day and pay in.

I'm off to Carshalton Athletic v Potters Bar Town today in Isthmian premier division

So where is the match review?
Carshalton won 2.0. Crowd of just over 200 (I believe). Tight game with both teams towards bottom of the table and Potters Bar in relegation place. No goals and few chances first half ended 0.0.
Game changed in 2nd half when Potters Bar had player sent off for pulling down a Carshalton player and getting a 2nd yellow. Carshalton scored from the free kick and then got 2nd goal as gaps opened up in Potters Bar defence due to being down to 10 men.

Some ridiculous lengths of travel in the Conference today.

Southend v Carlisle with a 5.30pm kick off is a piss take.
Truro v Altrincham
Scunthorpe v Yeovil
Eastleigh v York

It’s time for a north and south league, 2 winners go up and the runners up have a play off, winners go up too.
