Non-League Football Thread

Mate mate is a scunny fan in the same situation.
It's quite incredible to see former long standing league stalwarts Scunthorpe and torquay plus Yeovil now relegated to National leagues North and South. I remember being at the Etihad to see Fatty Fowler get a hat trick in the FA cup home to Scunny. Didn't Parlane get a hat trick some 40 years go v Torquay?
Whilst we bask in the greatest era we have ever seen - spare a thought for these clubs fans who must have thought season after season, come rain or shine "at least we're not in non league" never thinking they would be and now they are not even in the league below- all relegated today

Feels like we only just played them in the cup when they were in the championship.

Robinho and Michael Johnson both scored I think (or merely played maybe??) their last for the club. So maybe it was some time ago...

There's some famous old names in the National (aka Vanarama) league these days.
Wrexham
Notts County
Chesterfield
Southend
FC Halifax (is that the old Halifax Town?)
Oldham
Aldershot
York City
Torquay
Scunthorpe

All previous stalwarts of the EFL.

And all of them mismanaged, from top to bottom, to within an inch of their existence.

Yes it is, new club formed in 2008 after original team were liquidated

Well done to my old local non-league team Chadderton.

Used to go 3/4 times a season for about 30 years until I moved last summer as I was only around the corner from the ground.

Apart from a fantastic 6-4 win coming from 4-0 down v Skelmersdale in the distant past they've always been pretty average at best.

Anyway after missing out on automatic promotion by one point AND not winning any of their last three games they were promoted on pens AET to the North West Counties top division.

Buxton have been on an amazing run.
Bottom at Christmas missed out on playoffs in last game lost 3 nil away at Chester.
Brilliant from buxton though really going places
