Gundogan was one of Barca's best players last season and earns €20m. I doubt he will accept not playing a single minute of football.

We will have to take a hit on Cancelo. We’ll be trying to minimise it, whilst Barca will be trying to maximise it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we took a medium hit just to get rid of him permanently. It’s not as if we’re sailing close to the PSR limits.
 
He never got a proper goodbye either did he? Rude not to offer him that opportunity…!

I’ve been whinging since he left about how easy we let such a fantastic, versatile player go who was moulded to how we and Pep play. Didn’t think we’d get him back!!

Same situation and comparison. Both were coming to the end of their highly decorated careers. Both weren't (or aren't) necessary signings.

But may have concluded that due to circumstances he’s now worth that year.

Anybody in any walk of life who isn’t capable of changing their minds due to different situations arising are very stupid people.

Thankfully our club aren’t stupid.
 
Let's say Rodri is a shoo-in for his role.

That leaves Kovacic, KDB, Nunes, Foden, Bernardo, Gundogan, McAtee, and Lewis(if you assume Walker is going to get his spot back) all competing for two spots. You could consider Bernardo as a potential winger vs midfielder, but it still gets too complicated. Last year, Foden said more than ever how he doesn't want to be on the wing anymore, and he backed that up by winning POTY through the middle. It's fair to assume he's a shoo-in, too. So that leaves more or less leaves one spot for all the other guys. Not to mention, Bobb will get back sometime this season.

I think for our long-term success, we have to see what we have with what we've got right now. There's a lot of questions surrounding some players. We still have enough to compete for another league title, and our best XI can certainly match up with any side in the world in CL.

One year older and he has had a few injuries at Barcelona too. The Premier League isn't a forgiving league
