It’s a bit odd resigning now… yes they didn’t automatically qualify, but they are in the intercontinental play-offs, as they finished 2nd, (along with Suriname, 1 of the other 2nd placers from concacaf).
So he could have had a semi playoff and then if that is won, a final playoff (Iraq or DR Congo).
