PL Ipswich Town (h) post match thread

The boys in blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Thank you, City thank you lads. Thank you fans. You showed ‘em lads you showed ‘em all.

Especially the tractor drivers who thought they could come and beat Manchester City. Learn from the best lads you tractor drivers need some lessons.
Especially the know nowt stupid fools in the media who are biased and can’t see further than the end of their ears.
Especially the Specsavers needing absolutely disgraceful and obviously don’t know the rules whistleblowing codswallopers who are PIGMOL!! They know nothing and let Ipswich players get away with everything. It was as if they were determined to let Ipswich players injure our players. Just not good enough.

At least John Boy is back and playing just as well as ever.

My week is complete. Welcome back, Gundog. Welcome back Mr. Stones.

Dynamic of the team seems really good. Not the toughest of opponents but if we had no Foden and Rodri in the starting lineup last year, we likely would've struggled.
Yeah our reliance on rodders has been a problem. This gives us confidence to spell him more.

Wait until we get the best 2 players in the league from last year back in the side.
They had a go for 10 minutes and realised, after we hit the bar twice, if they kept at that game it would be double figures, so then stuck 10 behind the ball for the rest of the game.
The second half was damage limitation for them and that's all. But it's us that are boring apparently, lol.
Rico was class today.

I said this in the MOTM thread, but if Alvarez is worth is worth 75 million euros I can’t imagine there is a club in world football that could remotely afford Lewis (not that he would want to go), even on a ten year contract!

We were ploding along, the penalty definately shook off the malaise and then we dominated.

A good win

Easy win in first gear. Ipswich worked hard and some beat passing at times but they will find it hard work in this league.

Thought Savinho was great first half, Doku worked hard and Rico did well bar his miss.

Haaland excellent and thought Akanji was too.

Don't murder me but I didn't think the ref was that bad.

He was correct in booking Grealish and Dias from what I could see.

The biggest thing he got wrong was the possible penalty for Ipswich. But so did VAR as usual.
Delap got away with quite a lot, not surprising he’s had injury issues, few opponents too I reckon.

No complaints for the Dias decision.

We were fortunate with the Savinho decision.

Not a cat’s chance in hell that Jack dived, think the ref was ‘evening up’ on the Savinho decision. Piss poor decision by the ref imo. Not saying it was a pen but it wasn’t a dive either.

A couple of their players but most noticeably Delap got away with repeated ridiculous fouling.

The length of time he took to do anything for our penalty was bizarre, and fuck me how many times did he need to look at the replays. Gave the vibe that he was desperately searching for a reason NOT to give us the pen.
