Looking at the list of Mendes clients, there's a real lack of forward options. Nunez is a non-starter, Ramos is injured, Felix has gone to Chelsea. Hard to see anybody else we'd be interested in.

I think if we rated Ait-Nouri we'd have signed him before now. He was absolutely pathetic defensively on Sunday.

Pedro Goncalves would be quite a Mendes-like move. Not a striker but has similar qualities to Alvarez. Versatile, good end product. But coming from Sporting, would he be a Fernandes (hate him but been a good player for the rags) or a Nunes?
