He’s the best finisher to arrive in the game since Ronaldo in 1996.

No one else has ever come close to getting a goal a game from 18 onwards, even Messi and Ronaldo took until they were 23/24 to start getting those numbers.

If he makes it to 30 without any severe injuries he’ll be the greatest goalscorer of all time.

To be fair, if Messi was playing in Norway / Austria, he almost certainly would have.

That from Ronaldo was incredible.
Never realised that until now, obnoxious git.
He scored more goals than games he played for Madrid, which is insane tbf.
Alan Sharer has the PL record of 124 games to score 100 goals for Newcastle.

He did, though the list shown is referring to goals in all competitions. I imagine Shearer’s cup games might have lowered his rate maybe.

I don’t care who the opponents were/are you can only score against what’s in front of you.

And the fact he’s scored more than all other clubs, by himself!!! Is insane.

If he goes on like this and steers clear of injuries who knows what he’ll achieve

Did you notice the size of his arms? Bloody massive and his hands are like shovels. He’s a giant of a man.

You get what you pay for, genuinely had no second thought today that he would miss the first and third goal. No other player in world football gives you that confidence and defenders and goalkeepers know it.

Yeah at the moment it’s 97 in 102* games Haaland is on, and these are the 10 fastest ever -

1 - Cristiano Ronaldo - 105 games Real Madrid
2- Suarez - 120 games Barcelona
3- Ibrahimovic - 124 games PSG
4=Cristiano Ronaldo - 131 games for Juventus
4=van Nistelrooy - 131 games
6- Cavani - 135 games Napoli
7- Lewandowski - 136 games Bayern Munich
8- Mbappe - 137 games PSG
9- Christian Vieri - 138 games Inter
10- Immobile - 147 games Lazio
Jimmy Greaves scored 100 goals in his first 109 games for Spurs which would put him second in the list and first in English football.

Hughie Hayes scored 103 goals in his first 125 games for Newcastle (his 100th goal came in the 125th game, it was a game in which he scored a double brace to take him from 99 to 103). He’d be 4th in that list and second in English football.

And Jimmy Greaves again, scored 100 goals in his first 133 games for Chelsea which would also put him 7th in the list and third in English football.

However, I can’t find any game-by-game information on Dixie Dean so can’t see which game he scored his 100th goal for Everton. But you can see in season-by-season stats that he scored 122 goals in his first 119 games for Everton.

If anyone can find Dean’s game-by-game stats, there’s a chance that he could be the fastest ever to 100 goals for a club.

Golden boots in English football:

Jimmy Greaves 6 *
Steve Bloomer 5
Thierry Henry 4 *
John Campbell 3
Gary Lineker 3
Alan Shearer 3 *
Harry Kane 3
Mohammed Salah 3

* 3 in a row

Nobody has ever won 4 in a row, another record for his sights.

Absolute freak of nature! Need to get his contract extension sorted asap.

I know this might seem trivial, but Haaland posted his matchball picture onboard what looked like a private jet. Does he not travel with the rest of the squad?

The problem with going that far back is that there were so many more goals per game, defending was absolutely shite.

We’re literally talking about almost 2x as many goals, which has to change how you view the achievement.

In Haaland’s first season, everyone was saying it didn’t get close to Dean’s 60 goal season but actually if you look at how many goals were scored in the league that season, Dean was responsible for 3.39% of the goals in the league that season, which would be 36 goals in 2021/22 - exactly the same as Haaland got.

This is why, while I understand the desire to include all of football history in statistics, 1990 is actually a very convenient cut off if you want to make meaningful comparisons because it’s basically the beginning of the modern football - the offside rule, pass back rule, the modern football calendar with 2-3 games and 3 substitutes all coming in around then which together changed the game significantly to the point where comparisons too far either side of that line are pretty meaningless IMO.
