Inter game Wednesday

They couldn’t play on the Tuesday as we’re at home to Inter that night.
The CL games that midweek are Tuesday/Wednesday so the rags Carabao game could be on either night. The EL games the following week when we need to play Watford are Wednesday/Thursday. Not putting the rags game on Thursday is the unforgivable administrative error

Doh! You’re right of course. That destroys my theory that Carabao ties can’t be on the same nights as UEFA games in the same city.

The Watford game will be ideal to get Johnny Boulders, Rodders, Kyle and Foden up to speed from their extended breaks. They'll need the minutes in legs. Lazy bastards have been off since 14.07.24 - that's longer than the kids summer holidays! :)

So many people really missing the point by suggesting we have a good enough squad. Firstly, to actually have 2 entirely different teams we would need 22 fit players, that alone is not going to happen, then you'd have to not make any subs in the biggest game of the season which again isn't going to happen.

But all that is beside the point, the point is, they've given us and only us a massive disadvantage. It's not safe to be playing 2 games In 48 hours, that's a widely accepted viewpoint so they've basically just said you'll only have a limited squad for this round whilst everybody else can choose from a full squad. It's entirely unfair.

I always want us to win every competition, including this but the reality is, we can do without the games in this cup, and its really not worth winning anymore if you're going for the big prizes.

Usually its not too bad. Theres 1 or 2 games to get through on the way then you play the latter stages when theres not many games and can manage but with the expanded champions league going into january now, theres simply no room in the schedule to be playing these cup games and i think it will really harm teams in europe to be in the carabao latter stages this season. I predict you'll see all european teams putting really weakened teams out, more so than usual, with the expectation of going out early. For that reason, combined with this piss take, i do hope pep goes off on one in the press conference fucks it off and plays the eds with only the few who didn't get on the pitch for Arsenal from the first team squad contributing.

I really couldn’t care less. We are playing Watford at home who will also no doubt ply a weakened team. This competition only gets interesting at the final stage.

Just play the under 18’s they would probably get a favourable result against Watford .. Not worth any of the first team playing a single minute in this competition..

Yep, under 18s play EDS and EDS play first team.

Problem is, our u18s are mostly really young.

I know Carabao is lowest priority, and you get more prize money for winning your 3rd round FA Cup game than for winning the Carabao final etc, but it it’s the principle wrt player welfare which hacks me off. I’d honestly rather have seen a Wednesday 6pm KO arrangement.
