PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It's the Mail, so it won't be City. They will be getting it from the Premier League or another club within it.

Regardless, until it was announced on the Premier League website, this is another example of loose lips.

We will sink every fucking ship they have.
Love it, mate. I can’t wait for this to blow up in their faces.

Interested to know though how other clubs would know??

If Arsenal or Liverpool are within six points of us come April...

Start date is September 16th, expected to last 10-12 weeks, that puts the end date end of November/December. Another month or 6 weeks to reach and write a judgment puts the announcement around new years. Even give them an extra month or 2 and we’re talking about end of Feb.

Stefans been fairly certain there’ll be no appeal likely because of the rules, so I can’t see a situation where the table in April is relevant. If we lose the punishment will be so severe that we’re instantly out of any title race regardless of an appeal, if we win then obviously it’s not an issue.

Whatever happens the gossip mongers have killed the golden Goose, after years and years of calling us cheating bastards I honestly believe they have to find us guilty or they lose all the trust of the disciples that are shouting support for them.

It's not just some slip of the tongue they can excuse as a faux pas this has been a real effort by the authorities to do the cabals bidding, they are not going to build other fans and the publics belief system up and just admit that it never happened.
Nobody has to find us guilty in fact they’re going to struggle accusing us of murder with no body.

Didn’t Everton and Forest appeal their judgements?

IMHO it's gone past whether we are guilty or not and I don't believe we are, the damage made to the consciousness of other fans has killed their ability to be trusted to govern.

We get found not guilty I can see teams just leaving the league and maybe forming another one, they've booted their own product into touch.

Simon Stone will be be sharpening his crayons ahead of tomorrow's pre-match press conference with Pep.
First question will be something along the lines of 'If you are found guilty will you resign and take the England job' or 'Have you been called as a witness and if so can you tell us what you will say as we have no idea what is going on so we make it up as we go along so it would be good to have some intel'.

Stefan said on talksport extra yesterday the decision could potentially take up to a year.

Due to the complexity of the case the independent commission would have to produce between a 200-400 page document outlining each charge, the decision they have made on the charge and the reason whether they think city are guilty or not.

I think we won't find out until the end of the season

Knew a girl called loose lips once, can't believe she is the leak though.

My guess is that it's a team who wears red and who may be owned by Americans, just a guess mind you.

Martyn Ziegler was the first journalist to announce it yesterday so The Mail are just going off that.

Doesn't Ziegler have strong links with the Tarquins or am I just imagining that?

I don't have an issue with Sky or TNT in that I don't waste my money subscribing to them or take any notice of them.
Similarly, I don't read newspapers or seek out the equivalent online content.
If more people stopped feeding "the machine" it would stop functioning.
If they treated everyone the same I wouldn't have any problem whatsoever watching it but the total bias and obvious liking for teams in red is nauseating and so in your face.

I don't buy newspapers anymore, I'm not on the socials but obviously see links put up on here but today was the last straw. Won't be watching anymore of sky sports news, completely done with it.

Utd used to sing they do what they want. The latest showing tells you it's not only on the pitch.

I understand your view given how everything has gone these past years but I doubt the IC will care about consequences. It’s their job to report the truth. If the truth is the PL are wrong I’m sure that’s what they will say.

I would love for Pep to reply WHO THE FUCK LETS YOU IN ?

Everton appealed and then withdrew it, Forest appealed and failed.

Both took about a month from the initial verdict.

Obviously the scope of their cases was much smaller but my understanding is that deciding whether an appeal has merit or not is not necessarily related to how big the case is.

(Obviously I’m not a lawyer so anyone who knows better please correct me if I’m wrong)

I need to catch up with this thread. What's the general consensus on how we're feeling as the trial approaches? Are some confident, and some not so much?

We as fans have been dragged into the conspiracy theories and details even if they are true or untrue. The murky world of business and the protectionism afforded to "The royalty", the charges and accusations football fans don't understand yet parrot over and over again as if they are important.

I look at the colour of my shirt and that shirt will never change it'll always be blue, football has changed for the worse it's gone way past picking up a pink to check the other scores or your pools.

Soon they will add acronyms and percentages end zones and ice cream music, this tribunal will IMHO bring that reality even closer.

It’s expected that minor details like that will leak, they did about Everton, Forest and Leicester City too, there’s just too many people across too many organisations that know something that basic.

I doubt City will be that concerned about it, every single time it’s come up in an interview/press conference Pep/Khaldoon have been insistent they want it over ASAP.
Yes. It’s the more juicy nuggets that raise concerns about the motives of those who pass them on. No doubt all PL club directors will be tipped the nod on things like timescales.

I think he said it could take up to a year if it was a high court case. He has consistently said three months is likely for this case, so April sounds about right, which is close enough to the end of the season to make it tasty.

We have to be allowed appeal the severity of any punishment even if we are prevented from appealing the actual outcome or decision.
