They'll be happy with a 0-0
And, was the only game Liverpool lost all season and decided the title! One of THE great games of the modern era and probably the most hostile 90 minute atmospheres at the Etihad.
It was a pleasure to be there.
It propelled us to an unbeaten run to the end of the season, and the title with 98 points....utterly amazing !!
Both of the bolded were draws only cos of the buggers in blackAgreed. Think it'll be another generation before we get games as high quality and high intensity as the ones we've had against Liverpool in the Pep-Klopp era. The 2-1 win at the Etihad in January 2019 remains the highest quality game of football that's ever been played in this country. Two of the greatest teams in English football history going right at each other for 90 minutes at full speed. Still gutted that I was sick that day and had to watch it at home instead, but even on TV it was lightning fast and full throttle. The eventual champions against the eventual European Cup winners - you don't get a better spectacle than that.
Then you had those absolutely amazing games at Anfield, the 2-2 in 2021 and even the 1-1 last season was gripping until the end with Doku hitting the post. And the 2-2 draw back at ours when we were both going for the title in 2022. My heart almost couldn't take them, lol. As amazing as we've been since Pep came, Pep has said it himself that we were only so good because Liverpool kept pushing us to greater and greater heights by being such quality runners-up. I know we like to play down their achievements but 97 points in 2nd place is incredible. Arteta's a great manager and Arsenal are a good side but it's just not the same.
If Arsenal win the league just once they’ve hit the same heights as Klopp’s overrated special achievement award winning bin dipping scumbags did.Agree with every word.
I've never seen a game of football like that 2-1 at The Etihad that was unbelievable football from both teams that night the standards the night were off the scale.
As you've mentioned we've had so many incredible battles against Liverpool and we both pushed each other to the limits, Both sides were so good because they constantly raised the bar, We were a better team because of Liverpool and vice versa.
Arsenal can't hit the heights that both of those teams have done, Don't get me wrong he's done a seriously good job with them turning them from a team that was so timid into a well oiled machine defensively but as you said it's just not the same personally I don't get that buzz like I do against the Dippers or Rags.
Having said all that a 1-0 win will do nicely and send the bus wankers home with nothing.
And without smashing up their rivals team bus too.If Arsenal win the league just once they’ve hit the same heights as Klopp’s overrated special achievement award winning bin dipping scumbags did.
I'd rather they didn't... their bellend fans are practically just as unbearable as the bin dippersIf Arsenal win the league just once they’ve hit the same heights as Klopp’s overrated special achievement award winning bin dipping scumbags did.
Nah. Arsenal fans are irritating much like gobby fans of any reasonably successful team might be …. it’s just standard football rivalry.I'd rather they didn't... their bellend fans are practically just as unbearable as the bin dippers
That’s how I see it too. Arsenal have this incredible will to defend with an excellent pair of CB’s and a goalkeeper on fire at the moment. We cannot let them bully us at set pieces. Can see Arsenal really going for it early on seen as we’re slow starters. We have to cut out the half asleep start to games we seem to have adopted this season. I think Arteta will have Arsenal go hell for leather at the start hoping to score, then sit back and try and pick us off on the break as our desperation to equalise becomes more frantic. Other players need to step up to the goalscoring plate as I think they will shackle Haaland pretty effectively. That's why I think Foden and Gundogan will start as they do have a goal in them. Another tough game in prospect.

Yep, so can I.Can see it playing out exactly the same as the Inter game
We do forge forward early, if we didn't we wouldn't be caught snoozing at the back to early conceded goals. It's astonishing, isn't it? It's been going on for a long time too. Not just this season. This “Let's swan around for about fifteen minutes and just see what happens”. I've got to admit something: a few seasons back, I'd watch the way Liverpool would swarm forward at Anfield right from the kick off, often sowing complete panic in the opposition, and think to myself, “Well, I wish we did that, at least sometimes.” It's not Pep's way — he wants possession and control initially, and then probing, probing, probing from the edge of the box, looking for the lapse in concentration, the three-yard gap.
It's done us pretty well, has to be said, as a plan — six titles out of the last seven, six you say?! You can't knock it. But just for the spectacle's sake, I wish we'd swarm forward too and just swamp the opposition (no pun intended) from the off, from time to time.

I hate the dippers with a passion, Let's call a spade a spade, Arsenal aren't anywhere near that Dippers team not even remotely close. If Arsenal win the league just once they’ve hit the same heights as Klopp’s overrated special achievement award winning bin dipping scumbags did.
I just can't see us creating many chances, in a way it might be better if Kev doesn't play in this one and we see Gundo and Phil in the positions behind ErlingYep, so can I.
60% draw, 30% City win, 5% Arsenal win, 5% ref fucks us.
They will be very happy with a draw.
They're as good defensivelyThey're not as good as Inter. Especially not with Ødegaard out.
You are reading my mind. Totally agree.I just can't see us creating many chances, in a way it might be better if Kev doesn't play in this one and we see Gundo and Phil in the positions behind Erling
Arsenal are high on the dislike list I agree, but they're still behind the rags and dippers for pure hatredI hate the dippers with a passion, Let's call a spade a spade, Arsenal aren't anywhere near that Dippers team not even remotely close.
Arsenal would also have to win a European Cup which isn't going to happen either.
Arsenal can go fuck themselves, Their fans are arrogant gobby twats and their club is a shower of cunts, They've been trying to get us done for years even since that prick Wenger was in charge (the one who's never won a European Cup), They also used to pass penalties against us and have a laugh about it.
How times have changed.
