Stones is more than capable of bossing it in there if fit. He’ll get us to Christmas for sure.
Look at the risk of getting flamed I don't think Pep will have been happy to see Haaland stoke the fires in that way and provide extra motivation. Clearly personal rivalries are developing on the pitch (even if the managers share great mutual respect and friendship) and so I think it's safe to say matches between the 2 will from now on need to be watched from behind the sofa. Haaland seemed out of control at times and whilst no doubt City fans will love to see that, it does indicate him getting wound up and it's one thing doing that at his home stadium but he's now created a viper-pit atmosphere for the game at the Emirates. City are more than capable of handling that but why make it even tougher than it would otherwise be? It's like creating an extra trip to Anfield from a City perspective. You’ve also got Ian Wright on some twitter video taking Haalands playful throw of the ball at Gabriel literally and talking about retribution at the Emirates, Gabriel was a total dickhead yesterday and it’s all down to your **** of a manager Arteta.
Jesus wept.Because the reality is Begiristain did nothing to make City better. Spending money on Phillips and Nunes is ok? The problem is lack of top planning in the recent windows and the board is paying for their sins to have no plan B. EVERYBODY told it, nobody from the club has done it. The fact is we are lacking pure pragmatism in this board. We have not signed no Rodri’s and Haalands back-up and for everyone it was fine. Open your eyes.
Rewatch Villa away last season :-) Akanji is a brilliant player but not a midfielder.I think we'll see Pep sacrifice one of the attacking players and go to two holding midfielders. Why try and cover for Rodri with one player when he's the best in the world at what he does? It will likely take 2 players to make up for it in that area of the pitch. IMO anyway.
A line-up like:
GK: Ederson/Ortega
RB: Walker/Lewis
CB x2: Stones/Dias/Ake/Akanji
LB: Gvardiol/Ake
DM x2: Kovacic/Lewis/Gundo/Stones/Gvardiol
CM (attacking/sole 8): KDB/Gundo/Lewis/Foden/Nunes
RW: Foden/Savinho/Doku
ST: Haaland/KDB/Foden/Gundo
LW: Grealish/Doku/Savinho
I also wouldn't be surprised to see Akanji used as a coupled-up DM at some point. His reading of spaces and pace to recover is vital. And his passing range is fantastic with both feet.

Roll on Saturday lunchtime then.Yeh he has been whenever I've watched him
And that’s the best and most exiting thing about this manager , he will adapt , JS will have to be wrapped in cotton wool , and move into midfield from defence like we know he can , not necessarily as an starting midfielder but moving in like he’s done time and time again offensively with a fluid four in defence becoming a three on the attack ,our rivals are licking their lips obviously, only a fucking grade A tool would underestimate this team and managerPep will change tactics now. It’ll be interesting to see what he comes up with.

it was Stones, Lewis and Alvarez. To be fair, that was Stones and Lewis wasn't it? Could be wrong.
Fair point, I'd thought he'd started that game for some reason.Against Brentford they were walking through us at will until Rodri came on
Kova was brought in to help and he'd been a success, Rico can play a midfield role and hopefully once KDB is back we still have a threat. Also Johnny Boulders can contribute and I'm sure we'll be looking to bring forward any transfer targets in January but it's not an easy option.Should have a back-up though. We’ve been saying for 2 years about how important he is and how much football he plays.
Nor do I, from a fan perspective it's quite amusing, we all laughed I'm sure, but from a managers perspective it's idiotic, it's technically violent conduct, he could have got a red card, he could get a retrospective ban, and it could provoke other shit.Look at the risk of getting flamed I don't think Pep will have been happy to see Haaland stoke the fires in that way and provide extra motivation.
Lol, one of those every month isn’t there?hopefully available after the next international break
Lol both those players involved in the equaliser yesterday.Giving Grealish 300k per week who cannot score 5 goals per season, giving Stones 250k per week and not having room for signing Rodri’s back-up. Incredible planning.
Yeah, let’s use more and more players out of their position because the club cannot plan properly for ages.I’d like to see Gvardiol have a go there, maybe in front of a back three, allowing for more attacking wing backs. Not saying it’ll work but he’s a complete player with the required passing range for a dm.
He's a genius "did nothing to make City better" What you complaining about?Because the reality is Begiristain did nothing to make City better. Spending money on Phillips and Nunes is ok?
