It’s a play.'Cathy Come Home' is as desperate and depressing a film as I've ever seen.
wolf creek was very depressing.Bad lieutenant was a bit grim as was woolf creek.
I bought The Grey and watched it with my then wife who absolutely hated it for its ‘shite ending’. I read recently though that at the end of the credits there’s a scene where the wolf Liam Neeson fights is lying dead, so maybe it is actually a happy ending? The Grey and Apocalipto. Both unrelentingly violent and brutal, with the polar opposite of happy endings.
I watched that when I was 15, quite possibly never really understanding it fully, been meaning to watch it as an adult to see if it was worth it, I remember a train station scene was quite sad and the flat and endless screaming from a 'baby' want to say there was a lot of ticking going on but it was at least 35+ years ago lolEraserhead depressed and horrified me first time watching when I was about 13. I've seen it since and it still has the same effect. Good though.
I just watched that a month ago, it was sad and depressing.Only saw it once 20 years ago but Requiem for a dream I remember being depressing
I watched that on a plane fuck me it didn’t get my holiday off to a good start, utterly depressing film and like you say nothing has changed.I, Daniel Blake - even more depressing it documents peoples lives up to 2016 and nothing has changed 8 years later and the current rhetoric looks like it will extend it - makes Kes look like a fun musical
Did you watch it when it was on TV in the early 80s? That's when I saw it. Yeah, curiosity made me watch it again some years later and ...it's even freakier. I had to be in the right state of mind for it..haha.I watched that when I was 15, quite possibly never really understanding it fully, been meaning to watch it as an adult to see if it was worth it, I remember a train station scene was quite sad and the flat and endless screaming from a 'baby' want to say there was a lot of ticking going on but it was at least 35+ years ago lol
Great call. Don’t think I could watch that again either.Nil By Mouth. It’s one of my favorite films and I’ve seen it once, when it came out over 25 years ago. I’ve not had the fortitude to see it a second time.
watched it on vhs lol my mate had one and we used to have a film night at his, his mam used to get us a 4 pack as well, which was cool as a 15yo kid lolDid you watch it when it was on TV in the early 80s? Carter was likely guilty and got off on a technicality. Dylan stopped performing the song before the end of the 70sHurricane.
