Newcastle United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

A draw was about right. Given the table a good point. Now played two tough away games (Geordies don’t lose much at home and Chelsea are starting to click so we played them there at the best time). And Arsenal at home. Dippers have only played dross and mid table utd. It will be us and Arse again I feel.

Decent performances feel like poor ones when we’re used to brilliance.

Absolutely none of this is on Pep though. All of our rivals have massively strengthened over the past two summers whilst we’ve stagnated.

Signing bang average players like Philips, Doku and Nunes, all players who would barely get minutes for any top 8 side, doesn’t help matters either.

I’d have been more content with a draw if Isak had played.

We were in cruise control up until the penalty. Newcastle seldom threatened.

Rodders injured
No backup for Haaland
Kev ageing and injury prone
Doku showing little sign of improvement
Gundo not fitting back in as first expected
Scant transfer market activity inwards
Arsenal looking strong again, possibly stronger

I'm comfortable knowing this season won't be a fifth title in a row. Four was brilliant, though.
you re waving white flag far too early. We have troubles, but your guesses all very negative. Newcastle away gonna be a tough fixture for everybody, Gundo will be better, Arsenal look strong, but no stronger offensively than us, KDB been very good before injury, with Ake back soon, no backup for Haaland is not neccesarly terminal as few could easily play false 9, we can make moves January (we done some great business in the past), Oscar Bobb gonna be back in few months, Stones should be much better

Thought Jack had a very good game and for me he should start ahead of Doku who looks a bit one trick merchant at the moment, saw a lot more from Savinho who gave them problems. Good to see Phil looking more dangerous.

We just need to find a new rhythm and balance without Rodders in midfield - not sure Kova and Rico together are the answer. Fully confident Pep will figure it out. Just stay in or around the top and see where we are in Jan when maybe they will need to accelerate plans to add a dynamic ball winning midfielder.

He allows himself to get too involved in the needle, he should stick to making them look daft as he was doing in the first half.
To be fair, I've never seen anything like Tonali and Schar's antics today. Both going down pretending to be elbowed with absolutely no contact, then kicking the fuck out of him when that didn't work.

at least its a proper game
compare to the Arsenal one

oh boy, i hate arsenal
