we lose possession from throw ins within seconds

This never ceases to amaze me. Yesterday, we had a throw-in and the camera cut away to some shot, wholly irrelevant to the play, for one second. When it went back to the game Newcastle were in possession. Unless my eyes deceived me later on, we had a throw-in that had to be retaken because it never went into play. The retaken throw was then, a scarcely believable, foul-throw.

We are the only team that seems to get penalised for this.

Fucks me right off that professional footballers can’t take a throw in. But I am turning into Victor Meldrew as I get older.

Gvardiol needs a lesson in how to do a throw in because he has been pulled up by the referee a few times for foul throw as of some over of our players! It's weird we have pep an ultra professional but leaves all the set pieces corners throw in to other people who to be honest utter shite

Yeah think pep just leaves all that to our so called specialist set piece team who are absolutely shite! Thing is they've been that long we won't just sack them off we will just keep them with hardly any output from them as in goals from corners set pieces

Last league season "absolute shite" is absolute bollocks. We scored 3 fewer than Arsenal but conceded 4 fewer:

23/4 City 16 - 3 ( corners/set pieces)
23/4 Arsenal 19 -7 (corners/setpieces)

This season they are looking great on corners with 3 scored but 2 conceded on corners/set pieces. we are 1 for and 1 against.

Set piece team look after both attacking and defending

I think if anything we're a bit too reliant on set pieces, particularly without Odegaard. Our attackers aren't really firing yet.

Might be a fitness thing. They do seem very prone to coming down with cramp.

Also Raya needs to work on his balance. He's good at claiming the ball but sadly seems to fall straight down immediately after.

Maybe it's like when men get pregnancy sympathy pains for their expectant wives? Perhaps a similar thing happens with the Arsenal centre halves due to their close relationship with Raya?

'Breaking and Unconfirmed' isn't usually a sign of a rock solid news story. I've seen some noise on the Arsenal forums about this but nothing confirmed and the supposed 'injury' can't have been that bad as he played on for another 6 minutes after.

Not wanting to diss my own team here but unless you see an Arsenal player with his leg visibly severed at the knee, being down in tears showing pain and distress can't be treated as a reliable indicator of actual injury, especially after just going ahead in injury time.
