City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

It's shocking how this is being reported. The findings are quite clear. The premier league's rules are unlawful, and their decisions were reached in a procedurally unfair manner.

The PL and Press can paint this however they like, it is clearly a resounding victory for MCFC!
We tend to think of the press as being a monolithic block, but clearly some are more credible than others on this occasion. Lawton, Ziegler, Samuel (all Times) and Keegan give the best analysis.

The real litmus test, however, is the reaction of the fans of the red cartel? Are they celebrating it as a victory? Absolutely not. They are furious. That, in itself, tells us who has won.

Tim Lewis at Arsenal is going to be pulling his hair out now.

The PL amateurs get their comeuppance, the red cartel know the writing’s on the wall and the shitty little clubs who endorsed the tyranny of the majority deserve their never ending lives grubbing around in the shadows

Fuck Brentford
Fuck Bournemouth
Fuck Fulham
Fuck Wolves
Fuck West Ham

Good luck to Chelsea Newcastle and Everton
We cannot rely on Spurs for anything, but have we now got 7 clubs to stop anymore of the cartel shit? 1 City 2 Newcastle 3 Villa 4 Chelsea 5 Soton 6 ? 7 ? Was really surprised at Fulham

Yep. They also recruited good managers in Mourinho OGS Ten Haag Moyes and van gaal. Meanwhile in other news the Easter bunny is alive and well and having dinner with Santa and the tooth fairies
They also think their the biggest club in the world just because they sell the club badge onto any old shit like Japanese bogroll..

I look forward to seeing Newcastle announce a £1bn sponsorship deal from a Saudi Chainsaw manufacturer and a Riyadh-based stone supplier.

Won't happen. Also, won't be the end of the world if Newcastle win a CL place at the expense of Arsenal, Liverpool or United. Having 3-4 teams competing for the PL will make it even more interesting.

Besides, money alone don't buy titles. Otherwise, United, Chelsea and Arsenal would have won more trophies in recent years. United have the most expensive squad in the world. Newcastle will need a lot more than money to win the PL/CL.

"owner interest free loans"

Isn't that THE VERY definition of financial doping?
Yep. If you go and get a loan from a bank you pay interest on it. So these clubs go and get a loan from one of their shareholders - a related party - and don’t pay interest on it. So they are not paying fair market value for the loan. Which makes a mockery of the whole related party nonsense they’re trying to level at City

So if I get this straight the Red vested interests, aka previous cartel owners, came after us for inflated sponsorship deals which were found to be ok but then the beast of unintended consequences reared their head and said before we go what about the murky way you finance your club and these free loans, the true cost if which should be hitting your p and l like a normal company. Let’s count that now.

And oops a daisy there goes Arsenal’s free ride. Beware what you wish for. Now let’s get the 115 done. And hope they go after leveraged debt funding model too.
