CFG | Academy | EDS in & out season 2024/25

He's played well in a couple of games, and now he's 'great'?......seen it all before, he will disappear and be forgotten about soon, he's simply not very good.
What are you basing this on? He was brilliant for the EDS before he got injured. Struggled at Preston and Stoke but managed to find his form at Hull last season. A lot of young players take time to adapt to senior football, he’s now done that and looks like a proper player. May not be City level yet and might not ever be, but he would be useful asset to have in the squad.

Based on watching him....'struggled' at Preston and Stoke is being kind. He was bang average for Hull, in the championship, that is not a 'useful asset' for us. He's played half a dozen games for Ipswich, and scored a couple, that doesn't make him a 'proper player' (at least not yet)....he's strong, and puts himself about, a bit like McBurnie, Wood, Brereton Diaz, Antonio etc and I'm betting you wouldn't call any of them a useful asset in our squad?

He wasn’t bang average for Hull for starters. If he carries on bagging for Ipswich, which I think he will, he’ll end up scoring 10-15 goals for Ipswich, which isn’t a bad return. People like yourself right of young players to early. Look at Harry Kane when he broke through, he was pants for several clubs.

Or, and judging by some of the threads on here, some peoples 'blue tinted specs' are SO blue they can't see through them.
He scored, as a centre forward, 1 in 4 for Hull last season, in the championship....if that's not bang average, I don't know what is?

Rosenior rated him, McKenna saw a premier league player in him. He also spent time on the wing for Hull. So it is really not blue tinted.

Kane looked this in his early career as well almodt there.

could we not send around some proper talents to Troyes? like one talent from 4-5 other CFG clubs each. they seem to be the ones ended up worse since the CFG involvement.
this season they are bottom of French Champo division with 1-1-6 record after 8 games. this after being relegated last season from same division only still remain due to Bordeaux bankruptcy.

would proper talents wanna play for them, if thats the case then? move country and clearly be coached at a worse level.

probably not haha, but its a shit situation. we gave them some decent money for Savinho, wonder if they invested that as I guess you can buy 3-4 decent guys for that in that level. to go down two divisions which is what they are heading to, not sure whats the point of that in terms of CFG involvement apart from doing another Savinho deal in some time.

yeah, seem to be have left to languish a bit. Not seen if theyve changed manager/staff since avoiding the drop but clearly needs to change something and get its shit together.

We’re trying to sign Irish u17 international Michael Norman from St Pats. He’s already played in league of Ireland but may have to move to CFG club as he can’t move to England until he turns 18.
