Straight to Hell? ; )Should you stay or should you go?
Was in the Salisbury one sat 90s night with mates , it was an ok night nowt special..then suddenly the DJ put Numan 'Down in the Park' onBloody hell. Haven’t been in there for 20 years but that and the Salisbury were proper bikers / rock pub in the 80’s and 90’s.
Remember Grand Central under another name and it had Manchester’s first video jukebox in 84. Went in there to watch Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Michael Jackson videos lol

Not been in there for donkeys years...you've got me pondering now as we already have tickets for Sanctum Sanctorium at the Academy...but will be drinking on Charles Street beforehand. Decisions, decisions. :)Free Clash tribute gig at Grand Central on Oxford Road Saturday 8pm

didn't a load of nazi skins turn up and start jumping off the balcony into the crowd during the crass set?I’m pretty sure I was at that gig. Must have seen Crass and the rest of them at least 3 times at Digbeth 81 to 82.
In fact I was there…. May 82 as it had kicked off in the Falklands and Steve Ignorant was in the crowd before they came on talking about it with a small crowd around him (me being amongst them).

the apollo was a right ball-ache being all-seated,
but if my memory serves me well the clash demanded several rows of seats at the front were removed or they wouldn't play.
i was one of the lucky ones.
me and billy duffy share the same birthday.
i saw theatre of hate loads of times.

billy, of course, was so good he persuaded ian to leave southern death cult and they formed death cult.

First-hand accounts recall 80 Oxford Street being known as 'The Oxford Wine Bar' in 1953, and later in 1960 as simply 'The Oxford'. In 1970 it became the 'Beef & Barley',[10] a Steak House, and a year later in 1971 'A Schooner Inn' was added to the 'Beef and Barley' pub sign.[11] Between 1977 and 1978 it was known as the 'Cork & Screw' and it became 'The Shady Lady'[12] in the late 1970s.
Link doesn't work for me mate. This is worth a look.![]()
