I think Txiki is fantastic, one of the best at what he does and it’ll be a bittersweet day when he leaves, sweet for the days he gave us, bitter than he has to leave us.

However I don’t think it’s wrong to say that if he hasn’t set city up for success after he’s gone then surely he’s not done a bit of a poor job?

Now I think about it, there’s no way Pep finishes this year. 2 such high profile departures would raise the risk level too much and our owners are too smart for that.
Pep extension for 2 years to bed in the new DoF (with Tixi handover too) then the DoF brings his own guy in. The Portuguese pair makes sense.

Very good manager, who played a style that was perfect with the kind of players he had. He had nothing much in the way of a midfield, so he played a very fast game over the top and out to the wings. When Mané, Salah and Firmino were clicking, that worked a treat.
Would be a complete reversal of everything Pep-style football has built up over the last eight years (including Academy and lower, because the coaches at that level have all bought into it). Would make no sense at all.
Anyway, he's now got a job.

Lots being reported. Realistically only City and the club the dof is coming from know the news.

The Hugo Viana links make perfect sense and I feel like we have to plan for Txiki, Ferran and Peps inevitable exit and build another dynasty.

Yes, our whole club is structured around a DOF .Personnel may change the club structure won't.

Know nothing about him but buying cheap selling for a profit is a very different model to ours.We can't develop players the way they can, because basically we have to win all the time. Although we do do a bit of buying cheap and selling on the side.

It was more the fact he finds good quality players...anyway I think he went to Livarpool last year if my research is correct. Hopefully Khaldoon has a good portfolio of directors of football to choose from.
