Benjamin Mendy | Joins Pogon Szczecin (p92)

He should count his blessings he's left here wealthy beyond the reaches of most of us and many professional footballers, for actually contributing very little in return. If I was him I'd stfu and enjoy my life. It would serve the fucker right if he chances his arm, loses the case and the costs bankrupt him.
I bet he’s not got much money now.

No firm I know of allows an employee facing such serious charges to carry on working. For a high profile footballer it would be impossible for him to play. They are usually suspended on pay though. 500 grand a week, were we really paying that wanker that much???
I read in an earlier post it was £500k per month

Fuck me he must have spent like Viv Nicholson of Littlewoods pools fame if he hasn't.
I’m sure he wouldn’t qualify for Universal Credit, but I bet legal fees and child maintenance will have chipped away at his finances. He doesn’t seem the type to think much about the future either.

If he was having to borrow money to pay child support in 2021, he obviously didn’t have much liquid assets. Maybe he has lots of property though.

Some of these footballers really are as thick as mince.

He breached his bail conditions which is (presumably) illegal. I know we weren't playing him anyway but he even took that option off the board. We couldn't even let him train to at least keep his fitness levels up for if and when it was resolved.

It was his decision to break bail conditions and no doubt he'd have been told to abide by them by the club, he certainly breached his contract with us and you don't need to have read it to work that out.

If it had happened to me I'd have held my hands up and said "it's my fault for being a muppet" but perhaps I'd just got more morals and a sense of what's right & wrong than him.
If he had morals he’d never have got charged in the first place.

He is trashing the club and some players like his life depends on it , i always hated him , got piled on for saying he collects trophies he hasnt earned , bragging about it on twitter and insta , perhaps believe auntie kaz next time !

yep that's right City haven't paid him since September 2021. He didn't actually get charged for breaching his bail, it was dropped in court, so I'm not even sure where this news came from
For it to be dropped in court means he was charged.
He was on bail. It was alleged that he breached it. As a result he was arrested charged and remanded in custody. That's where this news came from.

Why it wasnt proceeded with is entirely separate.
It is stated that when he was remanded in custody City stopped paying him.

He could just legally sue the club if his lawyers believe he has a case without all the chatter. Hopefully it will count against him when it goes to court. The more a simpleton speaks the bigger hole they usually dig for themselves.

How can a contract have a clause that says you will be paid if you are banged up? The concept is ludicrous.
don't be facetious. Ultimately this is a contract dispute the wording of the contract is critical. I'm not going to second guess what the contract says as it's pointless. City will either have to pay nor not pay depending on the contract wording. My gut feeling is he has a case since he was found not guilty. They'll have their day in court to argue the terms of the contract

United sacked Ronaldo for breach of contract and that was just for telling the truth about how shit they are.

Mendy had been fined twice before for turning up late to training and was in breach for his behaviours, alone.

One such report had him organising escort girls flying in from Italy to attend a party at Mere Golf and Country.

He's a fucking dog.

I'm not an expert but my understanding of the law is that although being charged with a crime alleged to have been committed outside of work premises and hours isn't automatically justification for your employer to withhold your wages, there are plenty of connected scenarios which are seen as sufficient justification, for example that you being charged with that crime brings reputational damage to your employer, which would be hard to argue against in this case.

I don't see the club dropping the ball on employment law enough to have not paid him exactly what the law entitled him to.

He may have a case against the CPS or other elements of the legal system if there's evidence they took a case to court without properly interrogating the evidence, or that a disproportionate punishment was applied. If he wanted to do an actual good thing he could take some action regarding the big delays involved in the case and maybe drive a push for funding to get these sorts of cases heard in more reasonable timeframes.

Lashing out at his former teammates seems like a desperate act especially considering the support that some of them have been providing him. The club should address any instance of breaching club or league rules and that doesn't have anything to do with this. His pay wasn't withheld because he hosted parties and he knows that.

Hopefully it serves as a warning to our players to keep out of trouble and only shag people they know and trust.

but it was reported on the same day it was dropped. It just didn't happen, he was remanded for rape charges and was proven not guilty for those charges
