A story from the DM that warms the cockles in the two varying situations at the Manchester clubs. Very Swales playbook from the rags this time.

Imagine the scenario, Scruffy Jim going up the aisle like daft Donald asking for spare cash then getting the packed lunches (made by Tent Pegs missus ) out so they don't have to pay for in-flight meals. Sipping his tap water he peruses his spread sheet to see how much they could save charging ex managers / players for match day tickets. At the airport baggage carousel he grabs his tent and begins his long walk to the nearest campsite to the bollox dor venue.

Our record morphed from biggest home attendance to biggest attendance at home stadium, so to say it’s never been beaten can’t be strictly correct or the record would have always been claimed as the latter.

I've caught a few of the plastic no nowts with that one down the years.
Their highest ever "home" attendance wasn't even in their own stadium either.

The fact Villa Park looked half empty when Bournemouth eventually equalised will be lost by most too!

We had to change the frame of reference for that attendance when Spurs were playing at Wembley, so not quite correct.

I always thought it was the highest attendance outside of Wembley anyway.
I wasn't there though;-)

He is cutting back everything "for the good of the club"

It's only 73.5 because it was built under the old regs ! Wouldn't get away the spacing of seats nowadays

Wenger's intelligence and opinions have always been consistently stupid, it's just that he said them in a French accent, grew up in a small French village/coffee shop and was cosmopolitan so the pathetic journos fell about themselves trying to paint him as some philosopher.

Sam Allardyce has done 5 times more for the progression of sports science, of data analysis and performance analysis, in this country than Arsene Wenger ever did but he looks and sounds like he drinks Tetleys and likes a big lad up top so nobody seems to know
